Join VoltVerified on Saturday, September 12 at the Huntington Beach Sports Complex for hands-on eBike rider training led by law enforcement instructors trained through VoltVerified’s CA POST-certified eBike Instructor Course.

Students will complete hands-on riding instruction, classroom education and a written test. Those who successfully complete the program will receive a VoltVerified rider permit sticker.

Great job OCSD - Rancho Santa Margarita Police Services!

Several of our deputies recently completed an e-bicycle safety education course hosted by Volt Verified, adding another valuable skill and resource to our team.

This specialized training strengthens our deputies understanding of e-bicycles and the evolving laws surrounding their use. It also equips them to provide riders and parents with accurate information about e-bicycle safety, laws, and responsible riding. By increasing our department’s knowledge, we can better serve as a resource for families and help them make informed decisions about e-bicycle use.

Our goal is to promote safer e-bicycle riding through education, community outreach, and hands-on safety instruction. By providing riders and families with the knowledge and skills they need to ride responsibly, we hope to prevent unsafe riding behaviors and help reduce e-bicycle-related injuries in our community.

Youth eBike safety is a real issue. The question is how we respond in a way that actually improves safety.

There’s no question youth eBike safety is a growing concern. The harder question is what the right response should be.

Minimum-age restrictions are getting more attention, but age alone doesn’t tell us whether a young rider is ready to operate safely.

At VoltVerified, we believe age should help guide supervision, while demonstrated competency should determine independence.

That means stronger supervision for younger riders, meaningful rider education, hands-on skills, knowledge assessment, parent involvement, and a clear pathway to greater independence when a rider can show they’re ready.
