In case you haven’t been counting down the days, we have! 🤩

We are officially 10 days away from our Grand Opening Event, and to say we’re excited would be an understatement! We can barely contain ourselves as we put the finishing touches on everything and get ready to welcome you all to the farm.

We’ve shared a lot of behind-the-scenes progress, but we’re still keeping a few surprises up our sleeves for the big day! 😉 Trust us—you won’t want to miss it.

June 20th will be here before we know it, and we can’t wait to meet you, introduce you to the horses, and show you everything we’ve been working so hard to create.

The countdown is ON for our Grand Opening! 🤩

One more item checked off the to-do list! ✔️ We gave the horse run into the barn a much-needed refresh after all the wear and tear from winter, and it’s looking so much better.

Now, were the horses thrilled about being temporarily kicked out during the process? Absolutely not. But we knew the project was a success when Ben gave it his signature “pee seal of approval” the moment we were finished! 🤣

We can’t wait to welcome you all to the farm soon and show off all the hard work that’s been happening behind the scenes. June 20th is getting closer! 🎉🐴

Equine Assisted Learning: What’s the Goal?

At Cactus Spur Equine, the goal of Equine Assisted Learning (EAL) is about so much more than simply spending time with horses. Through meaningful interactions and activities, participants have the opportunity to develop valuable life skills, build confidence, strengthen communication, and experience personal growth.

And the best part? We get to do all of this while having fun with our amazing horses!

While some sessions may be more challenging than others, every activity is designed with growth, learning, and connection in mind. Here’s just a small sneak peek into the magic of EAL!

Don’t forget—our Grand Opening is coming up on June 20th at 10:30 AM! You’ll have the opportunity to see an Equine Assisted Learning activity demonstrated in person and learn more about what we do. We can’t wait to welcome you to the farm!

Today’s project at CSE!

If you know our family, you know we were VERY active in 4-H… we had all of the animals…and all of the projects and supplies that came with them😅After 10 years in 4-H, you tend to accumulate a lot of “things”!

Now that we don’t have all of the animals and just have our lovely ponies, we’re going through everything and getting things ready for you all (while making our lives a little easier along the way too)! Safe to say we’ve been busy over here and have more to come!!

It truly is heartbreaking for me to share this news with you all, but yesterday our sweet Sam crossed the rainbow bridge.

Sam was an incredible horse with an even more incredible spirit. It deeply saddens me that he won’t get to meet all of you, because he truly was something special. His kindness, heart, and willingness to give his all every single day shaped so much of who I am and ultimately played a huge role in my decision to create Cactus Spur Equine.

He lived his life to the absolute fullest and never did anything halfway. His spirit will continue to live on through Cactus Spur Equine and through each of us who were lucky enough to know and love him.

Rest in paradise, sweet boy. Enjoy that beautiful green grass up there while you keep watch over us down here. 🤍🌈
