Our stables and riding arena are usually buzzing with activity—lunging, groundwork, training, and horses happily being ridden.

But we also treasure those quieter moments out in the fields, roaming Wasatch’s luxurious landscapes, checking our pastures and spending time with the grazing herds.

There’s something special about slowing down, breathing in the open air, and simply enjoying our horses in their natural surroundings. 🌿🐴

Some horses are a breeder's dream. ✨

Salacia WL, by Mistral out of Madragoa SS, is one of those mares—a true powerhouse who has us dreaming of her future in the dressage arena.

Her half sister, Unica WL—whom you met in our previous post—is showing us that there is something truly special in this bloodline.

Breeding potential starts with vision and genetics. However, bringing it to life is where our team's dedication makes all the difference. ✨

In the Lusitano breed - due to its rarity - mares are precious for reproduction and are therefore often not given the opportunity to be developed under saddle. We believe that mares deserve to have their athletic potential tested—and, just as importantly, the chance to reveal it.

A prime example is our Salacia WL, by Mistral and out of Madragoa. We have equally high hopes for her half sister, Unica WL, by Ofensor MAC and out of Madragoa. At just two years old, she is already a powerhouse, combining beautiful Lusitano type with exceptional gaits and conformation.

We can’t wait to see what she becomes. What do you think? ✨

Tormento WL exudes true Lusitano type. This handsome dapple-grey gelding, by Mistral and out of Nata—both from Manuel Braga’s renowned stud—is a beautiful blend of traditional, highly functional bloodlines.

Now six months into our training program, Tormento is making wonderful progress. But every horse deserves a break from mentally demanding work. From time to time, we let our horses simply enjoy themselves in the arena—and Tormento was more than happy to show off his athleticism, expression, and joy for movement.

Sometimes, the best training session is just letting them be horses. ✨
