Well said. We’re recently a follower, but see parallels in how the Club must work with our baseball Astros competing with the big $$$ Dodgers and Yankees. Must identify youth talent and develop it, keeping most and selling some.
📈 WE"VE NEVER HAD IT SO GOOD!
I know we've had a taste of something more with Roberto De Zerbi and Europe - which don't get me wrong, was beyond my wildest dreams - but last season's performance should still be seen as exceptional and not just acceptable.
It was our second-best finish in 124 years of the Albion, and just one point behind our best.
In most years, we would be back in Europe; unfortunately, Crystal Palace did something that happens once every 10 years or so and won the FA Cup without already securing a European place. It's a tough break.
It's not a case of standing still or going backwards. We have around the 15th largest wage bill in the league, and consistently punch above our weight by having a model that gives exciting young players the opportunity to grow and progress.
This means that we are set up to allow for errors and poor form on the understanding that those players will become better for it. Unless one, or both, of those things change, we are not going to be a club that consistently challenges and gets top six.
In this sense, with the model, we're consistently going further than anyone ever predicts, and actually, looking at the bigger picture, still moving quite rapidly forward.
Every year that we buck the trend and become more stable in the Premier League, and a more enticing option for the best young players in the world, we grow as a club.
At the end of the day, this is the golden age of the Albion.
It has quite literally never been so good!
