This year, on my birthday, I have a unique request. In previous years, I've passionately promoted various non-profit organizations that are close to my heart, and your support has never wavered. However, this year, my request takes a different form.

Instead of asking for donations to charitable causes, I'm asking for your support in my campaign for city council. Here's how you can help:

Self care is way more than relaxing baths and eating nutritious food. The smallest acts of self-care in your daily life can have a big impact to your stress levels, risk of illness and overall energy.

While dropping off my daughter at 5am on a Saturday (that alone takes dedication) for a powerlifting meet we go over last minute details- do you have this did you grab that ok good to go-

Me: good luck today. Go make regionals
Kid: hopefully
Me: let’s do that again- good luck today, go make regionals!
Kid: I said hopefully.
Me: no ma’am - manifest it- speak it into existence- you worked hard for this. You decide. So go make regionals.
Kid: ok I will, hopefully

Seriously- we have got to believe in ourselves. ”I’ll try” is sub par - don’t try…. DO!! We are responsible for our future we are responsible for pushing ourselves and excelling- or not. Believe yourself and erase the doubt.

Go make regionals kid and everyone else reading this- believe in yourself because that is the only one responsible for achieving your goals.

I look at Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr with so much admiration not just as a civil rights icon but as an untouchable thought leader.

These two statements guide me not just today, but every day.

Shout out to anybody still pushing through on their New Years Resolution - last Friday was most likely to give up day!!

Don't feel bad you are not alone!
