Incline walking benefits ⤵️
Here’s what happens when you walk on an incline AFTER your workouts:
1️⃣ Strength training uses up stored glycogen (carbs/sugar) for fuel - which means the body will start using fat for fuel. So, your incline walk becomes a fat burning walk 🔥
2️⃣ It burns more calories without greatly increasing cortisol (the belly fat storing hormone). Burning calories and decreasing cortisol are key to getting rid of belly fat.
Those are just a couple of benefits of incline walking for fat loss….add to that increased insulin sensitivity, muscle sparing, and better recovery.
🚨 THE KEY TO THIS IS TO STAY IN THE FAT BURNING ZONE
👉🏻 60-70% of max heart rate
👉🏻 max HR = 220-age (220-45=175)
👉🏻 fat burning zone: 175 x 65% = 114 bpm
Incline walk examples:
Beginner - 6-8% incline @ 2.8 mph
Moderate - 8-10% incline @ 3.0 mph
Advanced - 10-12% incline @ 3.2 mph
