Between dives, there's something special about slowing down. Floating in crystal blue water, soaking up the sunshine, and appreciating the kind of peace that only the ocean seems to provide. šŸŒŠšŸ’™

And just like that… the Denver Adaptive Divers Cayman Brac takeover has come to an end!

Huge thank you to the incredible staff at Brac Reef Beach Resort and Reef Divers for always taking such amazing care of our dive family. Year after year, you make this island feel like home — and we already can’t wait to come back.

18 dives, endless laughs, unforgettable underwater adventures, and so many new memories made with both old friends and new additions to our dive family 🐢🦈🪸

As Dr. Seuss said, ā€œDon’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened.ā€ And while we’re definitely sad to leave paradise, our hearts (and camera rolls) are very full. Until next time, Cayman Brac šŸ’™

Big bubbles, even bigger dreams!

This week we celebrated something pretty incredible… our FIRST ever Classified Dive Buddy certified at just 15 years old! šŸŽ‰

Meet the newest (and youngest!) member of the adaptive scuba family — proving that passion, compassion, and leadership don’t come with an age requirement. While most teenagers are figuring out what’s for dinner or how to keep a Snapchat streak alive, she’s underwater helping create freedom, confidence, and adventure for adaptive divers. Honestly… iconic behavior.

For the past 3 years, she’s grown up alongside Denver Adaptive Divers, learning the importance of inclusion, patience, teamwork, and the life-changing magic that happens beneath the surface. Partnering with her dad — also an incredible Classified Diving Buddy and Dive Master — she’s already helping assist with adaptive scuba training and making an impact far beyond her years.

And this is exactly why having young people involved matters so much. Adaptive diving isn’t just about today’s divers — it’s about building the next generation of leaders, advocates, instructors, and changemakers. When someone starts this young, they don’t just learn diving skills… they grow up understanding that the underwater world belongs to EVERYONE.

We have no doubt this is only the beginning for her. Future Classified Diving Instructor? We’re calling it now.

The dive industry needs more young people willing to lead with heart, curiosity, and courage — and we couldn’t be more proud to watch her journey unfold.

Congratulations on your certification! Your SSI Classified Diving and Denver Adaptive Divers family is cheering you on every fin kick of the way. šŸ’™

18 dives later and somehow we’re STILL smiling šŸ˜Ž

The Denver Adaptive Divers crew has officially taken over the island — one giant stride, and front roll, at a time. Between diving adventures, nonstop laughter on the boat, and enough gear drying everywhere to start our own scuba yard sale, this week has been absolutely incredible.

We’ve spent the week exploring every underwater nook and cranny we could find… swimming alongside sharks, turtles, stingrays, eagle rays, eels, and probably a few fish that are now tired of seeing us show up every day.

And the best part? Watching our classified diving family continue to create freedom, confidence, community, and adventure for every diver on board. There’s just something special about a boat full of smiling faces, salty hair, and people cheering each other on with every dive.

Today is finally a well-earned day off — time to relax, soak up the island sunshine, and maybe remember what dry land feels like again. But honestly… if someone asked if we wanted dive #19, the answer would be yes. 🤿

Denver Adaptive Divers Takeover - Cayman Brac edition!
2 epic days so far… 7 dives down… and 3 more days of diving still to go! Countless laughs, high-fives, and unforgettable underwater moments.
This crew is absolutely crushing it — overcoming challenges, building confidence, earning certifications, and proving that NOTHING can stop adventure. From giant smiles on the boat to perfecting our buoyancy underwater, every dive has been one for the books.
Massive shoutout to our incredible students, instructors, and support team for making this trip so inspiring and so much FUN. The ocean doesn’t care about limits… and neither do we. More bubbles, more certifications and more Cayman memories loading…

Wheels up! Trading hospital lights and marathon miles for salt water, sunshine, and a week of perspective in the Cayman Islands with Denver Adaptive Divers.

Adaptive scuba trips always remind me that adventure looks different for everyone — but courage looks pretty much the same every single time.

Also fully prepared to spend the week:
• covered in sunscreen while soaking up all the vitamin sea
• aggressively befriending every sea turtle
• pretending I’m calm and not fan girling when the friendly grouper comes to visit
• and saying ā€œjust one more minuteā€ at the end of every dive while my head is buried in the sand looking for tiny critters

Beyond excited for a week of diving, laughter, community, and seeing people do incredible things underwater. Cayman… we’re on the way šŸ šŸ¤æā˜€ļø

Today we celebrate National Adaptive Sports Day—and for me, that means shining a light on one of the most incredible spaces I get to be part of: adaptive scuba šŸŒŠšŸ’™

Because underwater, everything changes. Gravity fades, limits shift, and what might feel impossible on land becomes freeing, fluid, and full of possibility. Adaptive scuba isn’t just about diving—it’s about independence, confidence, and redefining what ā€œableā€ really looks like.

I’ve had the privilege of witnessing firsthand the courage, determination, and pure joy that happens beneath the surface. It’s not about what someone can’t do—it’s about everything they can do, and then some.

Also… let’s be honest, it’s pretty hard to have a bad day when you’re floating weightless, blowing bubbles, and high-fiving your dive buddy mid-ocean.

Here’s to breaking barriers, building community, and proving that adventure belongs to everyone.

This weekend Denver Divers hosted an Underwater Poker Tournament for Denver Adaptive Divers — because normal fundraisers are overrated. We decided to raise the stakes… by sinking the tables. Turns out poker is a lot harder when you’re 12 feet underwater. Yes, we actually weighted poker tables to the bottom of the pool, and those shiny metal washers doubled as poker chips. Cards, scuba gear, and a whole lot of questionable poker faces behind dive masks.

The real winning hand? Supporting Denver Adaptive Divers! This is one of many fundraisers that helps fund training through the SSI Classified Diving Program. The Classified Diving program helps make SCUBA more accessible to individuals with disabilities and allows them the opportunity to experience the freedom and adventure of scuba diving.

Huge thanks to everyone who showed up, suited up, and played a hand (or tried to…) underwater. Turns out bluffing is even harder when you’re communicating in hand signals. šŸ«§šŸƒ

Some people have a work-life balance… I have a role collection šŸ˜‚

Dog mom 🐶 (full-time treat dispenser)
Marathon runner šŸƒā€ā™€ļø (powered by caffeine and stubbornness)
ICU nurse 🩺 (calm in chaos, expert multitasker)
SCUBA instructor 🤿 (breathing underwater? Casual.)

Up bright and early this morning teaching a seminar on SSI Classified Diving programs and why adaptive diving isn’t just beneficial—it’s for EVERYONE. Because the ocean doesn’t care about labels, limits, or land legs šŸŒŠšŸ’™

Different hats, same mission: show up, lift others, and dive (or run) headfirst into what matters. Now… who’s ready for a nap? 😓✨
