Lamar CISD Renegades- Special Olympics

Today was the first day of practice for the "Badge Ballers". This team is comprised of our Lamar CISD Renegade athletes and our Lamar CISD Police Department Law Enforcement Officers. They are participating in the LETR Basketball Summer League, and it was an incredible start!

LETR (Law Enforcement Torch Run) Basketball brings athletes and officers together through the game they love by promoting teamwork, inclusion, and connection both on and off the court. It’s about shared experiences, mutual support, and creating lasting relationships through sport.

A huge thank you to Lt. Vaught and Officer Morales for organizing and coordinating the officers and making sure everyone had the information they needed. We truly appreciate your leadership and effort in bringing everyone together.

Thank you as well to the officers and athletes who showed up ready to work, encourage one another, and have fun.

We're excited to see what this season has in store!

The Law Enforcement Torch Run is more than just a run - it’s about carrying the Flame of Hope and standing beside our athletes as champions of inclusion, determination, and opportunity. 🔥🏅

A special shoutout to Officer Roberts, Officer Danielle Delgado, and all the other Rosenberg Police Department officers for representing and showing unwavering support for our athletes at Summer Games.

Your dedication helps shine a light on the abilities, hard work, and spirit of every Special Olympics athlete.

We are grateful for our Rosenberg officers who continue to run alongside our athletes and help make these moments so meaningful. Thank you for helping carry the torch for acceptance and inclusion!
