What a weekend for the Dawgs! The boys battled through five games in Kyle and came up just shy of gold. More importantly, they showed incredible grit, resilience, and heart every single game.
⚾️ Saturday Recap
We opened the tournament with a tough 9-8 loss to GBA Tigres after jumping out to an early 4-0 lead, highlighted by a 2-run homer from Hunter H. The boys bounced back in dramatic fashion later that day, walking off USA Prime Austin Red 6-5. Beckett H delivered the game-winning RBI single, while Frost W was lights out in relief and the offense pounded out 11 hits.
🔥 Sunday Magic
Sunday was packed with unforgettable moments. In game 1 the Dirt Dawgs pulled off an exciting win, rallying from down 10-3 in the final inning to defeat Marucci Elite CTx 12-10. The comeback was capped by Lazarus S launching a walk-off grand slam to center field, driving in five runs on the day.
The momentum continued in the semifinal rematch against GBA Tigres, where Lazarus dominated on the mound with 4.1 no-hit innings and 9 strikeouts while also going 3 for 3 at the plate in a gritty 2-1 victory.
In the championship game, the boys ran into a hot BTX Squishies team and fell 9-2, but never stopped competing. Hunter H added another home run, giving him three bombs on the weekend.
