YOUTH NIGHT!!!
It's that time of year again!!! Our YOUTH NIGHT will be at the varsity football game on September 11th.

Here's a run down of the agenda. Youth football we will announce at pregame and youth cheerleaders are welcome to cheer with varsity first quarter ONLY, then will be announced at the end of the first quarter and dismissed.

YOUTH Football players: Arrive by 6:30 p.m. Football players and their coaches should meet at the gate on the south end of the field (concession stand end) to line up by team. Shortly after they will be called to the 50 yard line of the track by team and each team with their coach will be announced at pregame, prior to the band. (Note: please be prompt with this as extra time will NOT be allowed on the clock)

Each team will walk towards the scoreboard end of the track to form a tunnel at pregame and remain on field for the national anthem. NO football players are to remain on the track or field after the game has started.

Youth Cheerleaders: Arrive 10 minutes prior to game time (down by scoreboard) to form a tunnel at pregame and remain on field for the national anthem. They will cheer for the first quarter only. Towards the end of the first quarter each team/coach should move down in front of the student section and line up by team/coach, each team will be announced and at the end of the first quarter. They should continue down to the north end gate and exit the track. We would suggest having them cheer on the track with the team they are on so that the announcement of teams can go smoothly at the end of the first quarter. There will not be extra time on the clock at the end of the quarter for the announcement of teams.

Players must wear jerseys and cheerleaders must wear cheer uniforms to get in free to the game. Named coaches being announced with the teams and the youth board will also get in free. All others will be charged applicable gate fees.

**We know that our K2 flag football players will NOT have jerseys at this time. Please wear one from a previous year if you have one. We have let the football program and school staff know about the jersey issue.**

Good morning, Comet Family!

A couple quick updates:

5/6 tackle parents: Teams have been formed and please expect an e-mail today from your respective coaches with further details on the season and a link to the Heja app. All further communication regarding your 5/6 teams will take place through that app. Please note, we do not have a firm game schedule from the league, yet. We will update as we know and that should be soon.

3/4 Flag: Teams will be formed at the end of this week, and you can expect communication from your respective coach no later than mid-next week.

Girls Flag: An email invitation has been sent for Heja signup. 1st practice is Wednesday, August 19 5-6pm at elementary field

K-2 Flag: Registrations are still open through ABC night at the elementary school. Once we have final numbers, we will form teams and update from there.

UPDATE FOR 5/6 TACKLE SKILLS COMBINE: Tonight's session will now be held at the practice field behind the middle school instead of the soccer field. Please still enter off Moscow Rd per the attached map. Again, helmets are not necessary for tonight. We will be fitting everyone that does not yet have a helmet and will start with helmets at Wednesday's practice.

ATTN: 5/6th Tackle Players and Parents: Our season is starting next week and we have some important dates coming up.

Monday 8/10: SKILLS COMBINE from 5:30 - 7:00pm.
This skills combine is intended to help the HHYFL board and coaches determine skill levels of all players to help accomplish a fair draft amongst both teams. This will count as a conditioning practice and all players should attend. ANY PLAYERS THAT HAVE NOT YET RECEIVED A HELMET (handed out at camps) SHOULD SHOW UP EARLY SO WE CAN FIT YOUR CHILD FOR HELMETS FOR THE SEASON.

Wednesday 8/12 and Thursday 8/13 from 5:30 - 7:30: CONDITIONING PRACTICES. Practices this week will be helmets only! However, we will be handing out practice pants and practice jerseys at end of these sessions to prepare for the next week’s padded-up practices.

Please make sure your players can attend. There are a lot of fundamental skill drills that take place this week that will help your player progress safely early in the season. If for some reason they cannot, please message us and let us know. As always, we thank the HH community parents and guardians for getting these kids out here to learn a great sport with some great people! !!*REMINDER*!!

Youth Football Camp is this Monday Aug 3rd til Thursday Aug 6th from 5:30-7. At the varsity practice field (behind the highschool).

If you have an upcoming 5th or 6th grader playing tackle football we will be giving out helmets at the end of camp days.

Hello, HH youth football family! We're looking forward to another great season of HH Youth Football! We wanted to update and remind you of a few important dates coming up. We're looking forward to seeing you at these events. Go Comets!

K-5 FOOTBALL CAMP - This year's camp is August 3rd - August 6th from 5:30 - 7:00pm at the practice field behind the high school. The flyer had a misprint showing Aug 4th - 7th. It is, in fact, the 3rd - 6th.

REMEMBER - 6th graders are invited to attend camp with the Middle School football program July 27th - 30th. If you haven't registered, please go to the Hanover Horton Comets Football FB page. The registration sheet is featured at the top (Make sure you use the Middle School one and follow instructions). However, if your 6th grader cannot make it to the MS camp or wants to do both, you are welcomed to join our youth camp Aug 3rd - 6th. You can register for the K-5 youth camp at HHYFL.NET. Please know if you haven't registered yet, you may not receive a t-shirt as it might be too late to complete the order time.

5/6 TACKLE ONLY - We will begin practices the week of August 10th. For certain, our skills combine for 5th / 6th tackle will be held on Monday, August 10th from 5:30pm - 7:00pm. We ask that ALL players be there, if possible. We will be holding regular practices that week, as well. The practice dates for the week of the 10th will be determined amongst coaches here this week and we will update you on that soon. After that, the season's normal practice schedule will follow a Tuesday / Thursday from 5:30pm - 7:30pm schedule for most weeks except for Thursday Aug 27th. We will also hold Saturday morning walk-through practices once games start. Stay tuned for messages from your coach(es). Communication from your respective coach regarding team specifics will start after combine with firm information on set dates/times. At last count, we have 49 players registered for 5/6th tackle (which is absolutely amazing), so we will be running two teams again this year. We do not have game schedules yet, but games are typically on Sundays and start 1st Sunday of September.

ALL 3/4 FLAG AND 5/6 TACKLE PLAYERS - We will be establishing team rosters for tackle on Monday (8/10) and 3/4 flag on either Tuesday (8/11) or Wednesday (8/12). You can expect a message from your coach with more instruction soon after teams are established.

K-2 PLAYERS - the teams will be established soon after ABC night and you will receive an update from your coach afterwards. Games are on Saturday mornings at the elementary school and typically start 2nd week of September.

Friendly reminder that the DEADLINE is this Saturday for fall youth football & cheerleading grades 3-6! We will make special exceptions, but a late fee may be applied. It’s imperative to have signups aligned with gear & uniforms for your kiddos so don’t wait!!
