Wow - what a weekend! Horace Boys track team had an awesome showing in Bismarck for the state track meet.

- Israel Bauer 6th place in Long Jump
- Adam Bamba 7th place in Shot put
- 4x100 relay team of Israel Bauer, Aaron Randall, Tony Wojcik, and Markus Podliska place 8th to get on the podium.

This was a special senior class of boys who went through the growing pain years since they were freshman - to now putting points up at the state track meet for the first time in school history. Well earned by all the guys and a special congrats to all of our seniors who definitely left their mark!

Great state weekend for Hawks!

*Bella Nygaard placed 4th in the 100
*Cambria Heigaard placed 6th in the 100 hurdlers, breaking her own school record in prelims and again in the finals!
*4x2 placed 5th after breaking the school record in prelims and doing it again in finals, taking almost 2 full seconds off the previous record!
*Bella ran another school record in the 200, just missing a podium finish
*4x4 ran a new school record by more than 3 seconds!

It was a great season with countless PBs and placings. We are so proud of our lady Hawks and can’t wait for next season!

Boys EDC Recap/State Update:
Boys had a tremendous showing at the EDC Championship meet on Friday. Multiple PRs, State Qualifiers, School record in points scored, and our first EDC Champ!

Next up is state - the bus is set:

Aiden Green - Long Jump, Triple Jump

EDC recap for the girls!

* Isabella Nygaard won the 100m and placed 4th in the 200
* Cambria Heigaard took 5th in the 100m hurdles, breaking her own school record
* Akur Duot took 5th in 300m hurdles, qualifying, and running a new school record
* Liana Williamson ran a PB to place 4th and qualify in the 400m
* Elizabeth Williamson adds the 800m to her qualifications by placing 6th
* Ella Petrick qualifies in the 3200m run by placing 6th
* Jelaine Reardon punched her ticket by throwing a PB in javelin and placing 6th
* 4x1 placed 4th after last minute personnel changes in a tough field
* 4x2 placed 3rd

There were also multiple PBs throughout the day. The girls did great and we are excited to add more entries for state next weekend!

Post-Season Time!

In our last boy's athlete of the meet update - we have our winner from the Rotary/Last Chance meets. Our winner is:
Owen Simmons! Owen had a 3ft PR in Triple Jump and now holds the school record, in addition to qualifying for the state meet!

Boy Hawks have had a stellar last couple meets - countless PRs and a few more notable State Qualifications:
- Aiden Green Triple Jump
- Owen Simmons Triple Jump
- Israel Bauer 100m and 200m
- Aiden Green moving to #5 in the state with a jump of 22'10"!!!

Hawks move on to the EDC Championship this Friday at Shanley HS and then the State Meet in Bismarck next week.

Pictured below is a bus full of our jumpers - led by Owen Simmons. All of them had lifetime best jumps, so that required a stop at Pizza Corner in Valley City.

Athletes of the meet:
Horace Lions Invitational: Josh Chea (Qualifier in Triple Jump)

Sheyenne Invitational: Markus Podliska (Qualifier in 100m and 200m)

Shanley Invitational: Dayson Barnett (7 second PR in Mile)

Oj Kiwanis Invite: Coach Salas (Saved a kids life doing the Heimlich maneuver)

Packer Relays: Ben Williams (PR in High Jump and incredible effort in 4x200m relay)

West Fargo Showdown: Adam Bamba (Qualified in Discus and now a double qualifier)

IMPORTANT INFO: End of season Banquet is Tuesday, May 19th at 6pm at HHS Theatre.

JV kids will turn in gear this FRIDAY the 8th at 4pm. Please have it washed!

This season has had a ton of bright moments and truly an incredible group to coach! Here is to finishing the last few weeks strong TOGETHER!
