Almond Eye production and Lance Tangen do an amazing job of capturing what a true Kansas hunting experience is like. From the accommodations of the lodge and the amazing meals that Ms. Cindy Fehr Roberts sets in front of us. To the array of other wildlife you will encounter. As I'm sure is true with other states, Kansas is special in its own way and offers a hunting experience different than what you may have experienced in your home state.

Strict age management has allowed us to put our hunters in position to not only encounter, but actually have realistic opportunities to harvest the mature target deer we are after. To the extent that hunters quickly learn why we are strict, when they are asked to pass young deer that would be their largest deer ever. We try our best to make you a better hunter and pass on the knowledge we have gained over the years.

Congrats to Wes Kusilek on getting the job done when the opportunity presented itself. Lookign forward to seeing you and the crew next season. Jon Schroeder buddy this hunt had me hurting for you all over again. So much of the sweat and blood put into setting up these farms was shared with you along side me. Forever greatful for that time working together. I wish it would have come together for you and thank you for the dedication you showed to the management plan. Passing some HIGH quality deer and holding out for the right ones. What an epic 6 days you had.

What an AMAZING week the 2025 Pre Rut Camp turned out to be. 4 out of 5 hunters successfully harvested mature animals that Home Grown Outfitters had plenty of history with. 3 deer were likely 6.5 and the 4th 5.5. The relationships built and renewed in camp added to the exceptional experience. My friend and outfitting mentor "Contact Mr." Dan Thurston made a trip up to visit Austin Tibbott and Jerry Tibbott of Pennsylvania. The Tibbott's actually had Dan out to their place to hunt 10 years ago and it made for quite a reunion dinner. Having new friends and first year clients Derek Woody from Virgina and Ben Holmberg and "Jacob" Jason Weitzel from Minnosta made for an enjoyable opportunity to show them around our properties and help educate and learn why Kansas and Home Grown Outfitters in truly a special place. Dreams can become reality here when you are pursuing the biggest deer of your lifetime. Very proud to add Derek and Ben to our list of hunters who killed the biggest deer of their hunting lifetime with us.

Special thank you also to a couple vital people to our camps operation.

To our camp cook, Cindy Fehr Roberts you keep crushing it again. You are a huge asset to our camp and are doing a wonderful job. Also huge thank you and shout out to videoagrapher and guide Lance Tangen for not only getting two of the kills on film but for also being my right hand man on helping get clients to spots in the morning and helping with all the other aspects of the week (field dressing, hauling out deer, photos, camp videos, and all the sharing stories and knowledge you've gained from years or working in the hunting industry.

We hope everyone had a great Christmas and a safe New Years. I'd like to announce that moving forward there are exciting times happening. Starting in the 2024 season Legends of Hope Outfitting has partnered with Home Grown Outfitters out of Wisconsin. We will be hunting under that name for the foreseeable future.

With a new year comes new and exciting ventures but nothing can replace the opportunities and friendships that were forged in the begining. Everything that helped make me a better guide and outfitter is all thanks to the highs and lows experienced by hunting vicariously through you and with you.

This decision wasn't the easiest to make. Having faith in God's plan, I trust that this path will lead the business to more prosperous heights. Hard work, dedication to client success, and a strict buck management plan are what made us attractive to the team at Home Grown.

In the end the number 1 thing for me in making this decision was doing what was best for my family. My amazing wife and 3 beautiful kids have all my heart and focus.

To past and future clients: Thank you for your trust and the opportunity. Exciting things are happening that's for sure. New leases. New Lodge. New Giants. New Partners. New Name. However with all those new things I can promise you this. The only garuntee I can give you is that you will receive the same effort, the same honesty, the same integrity, and the same loyalty that will give you the best chances to harvest a buck of a life time and have an amazing experience hunting in the great state of Kansas.
