Trying something new doesn’t require perfection.
Just the courage to show up.
I think about this every single time I watch a woman step onto a paddleboard for the first time.
Her hands are shaking. Her brain is screaming every reason she should wait. She’s already planning her apology for falling.
And then she stands up.
Not perfectly. Not gracefully. Sometimes not even for very long. 😂
But she STANDS.
And something shifts.
Because the board doesn’t care if you’re “ready.”
The ocean doesn’t care if you fall.
And neither do we.
You don’t have to have it all figured out.
You don’t have to be in shape first.
You don’t have to wait until you feel brave.
You just have to show up.
The courage part? It’s already inside you.

Today I got back on the water.
And then I taught yoga for the first time since October.
Honestly? It was a little flumsy. My hands forgot where they were going. My cues came out sideways. And my heart was beating so loud I could almost hear it over the ocean.
But here’s what I remembered standing out there:
You don’t lose it. You just need to meet yourself where you are today 🧜🏽‍♀️ not where you were six months ago.
Teaching is like paddleboarding. You WILL fall. You WILL wobble. And the whole point is that you get back up anyway.
This is me, getting back up.

The ocean has never asked me to shrink.
Only to show up.

Movement can be meditation.

Maybe you don’t need more. Maybe you just need less.

I used to think I needed more.

More strength.
More time.
More confidence.
More gear.
More “readiness.”

But the ocean taught me something different.

All I really need is:

A board.
A breath.
A plan.
And permission to begin.

Simplicity isn’t laziness.
It’s clarity.

The more I simplify my paddle prep, my movement, my expectations…
the more confident I feel.

🌕 This month, I’m choosing simple over complicated.
Soft over forced.
Intentional over impressive.

If you’re waiting to feel “ready,”
maybe you don’t need more.

Maybe you just need less.

Learning doesn’t have to feel like pressure.
It can feel like play.

I didn’t fall in love with paddleboarding because I was instantly good at it.

I fell in love because it kept inviting me to learn new ways to move, breathe, and be with the ocean.

Indoor SUP yoga.
Balance drills on dry land.
Practicing falling safely.
Exploring new edges without rushing mastery.

Learning became my way back to confidence 🌊 not proving, just practicing.

🌕 This month, I’m honoring love for learning.
Because every time we stay curious instead of critical, we give ourselves permission to grow.

is letting your body move the way she’s asking to.

Not to change her.
Not to control her.
But to connect.

Today, I moved for joy 🤩 not for calories.
I moved to listen, not to lead.
