Life is unimaginable without movement. Movement is a fundamental part of life that affects many aspects of the body and mind. As it pertains to physical health, movement keeps the blood flowing, bringing nutrients to the body and removing waste. For mental health, movement can improve mood, reduce the effects of stress, and improve self-esteem. Movement keeps the brain fit and active, increasing learning ability and even preventing memory loss. Movement plays a role in emotional health as well. Our feet, particularly the big toe, are paramount for all moving athletes. If a person is incapable of transferring his or her force through the foot, or rather the big toe, as it happens to be the last piece of the human body to leave the ground while in motion, at the very least, performance will suffer, the worst case being an injury to the foot. Yoga is an ancient art of self-discovery through flexibility and meditation. Move your body to still your mind, and your spirit will thank you. All of our classes at KFI end in some form of a yoga finishing sequence or a flexibility routine. It's funny how resistance bands are widely used for strength training while their biggest strength comes in enhancing flexibility
