This week, we're proud to recognize the Blue Heat- Warren Coaching Staff— Ritchie Warren, Lexi Haug, Chris York, and Jacob Askins—as our !
Their anonymous nominator shared, "These coaches have done far more than teach the game of softball—they're shaping confident, respectful, and hardworking young women who will become tomorrow's leaders."
That philosophy is exactly what Blue Heat Head Coach Ritchie Warren says has been the foundation of this team.
"My goal was to teach the girls how to believe in each other and be their biggest support system. Teammate support is the most effective. Every athlete gets down on themselves, and our girls recognize it—they're the first to lift each other up, more than mom, dad, or us coaches ever could."
Coach Warren also believes respect is just as important as success on the scoreboard.
"I told the girls I couldn't promise we'd be holding a first-place trophy at the end of the season, but I could promise we'd be the most disciplined and best-conditioned team every time we took the field. And that's exactly what we became."
Since the fall of 2025, the Blue Heat coaching staff has challenged these young athletes to embrace their team motto: "No Fear. Hard Work. Dedication." That commitment has helped build not only a successful softball team, but a group of young women who lead with confidence, respect, resilience, and heart.
As their nominator put it, "Their influence extends far beyond the softball field, and our community is stronger because of the time, energy, and heart they invest in these young athletes."
Congratulations to the Blue Heat coaching staff—Ritchie, Lexi, Chris, and Jacob—and thank you for investing in the next generation. You're building more than a successful team—you're building confident young leaders who will carry these lessons for years to come. That's exactly what being a Hometown Hero is all about.
