Most training happens inside rules.

Real violence does not.

If your practice depends on mats, referees, or agreed-upon boundaries, it may build attributes. It may build timing. But it may not prepare you for the moment when a door opens unexpectedly, when space is confined, when you are seated, belted in, or responsible for someone else.

We train for context.

Vehicle extractions. Close-quarters control. Decision-making under pressure. Managing distance when there is no room to move. Protecting others while staying grounded and aware.

This is not about theatrics. It is about clarity.

Calm mind. Efficient movement. Direct application.

Move beyond sport-based rules. Build skills that function in parking lots, tight hallways, and everyday environments where your safety actually matters.

If you are ready to train with purpose, contact me to schedule private training or bring a workshop to your group.

Confidence isn’t loud. It’s calm.
It’s knowing what to do when things get close, chaotic, and uncomfortable.

At Sifu Mitchell, we move beyond theory and choreographed techniques. Our training is hands-on, pressure-tested, and built for real people in real situations—because confidence comes from earned capability, not wishful thinking.

If you’ve ever wondered:

“Would I freeze?”

“Would this actually work under stress?”

“Am I protecting myself the right way—legally and ethically?”

That’s exactly what we train for.

📅 Upcoming self-protection and deep-dive training events are on the calendar now, covering close-range defense, decision-making under pressure, and practical responses that scale from everyday encounters to high-stress situations.

Whether you’re brand new or experienced, you’ll leave with tools you can actually use—and the confidence that comes with them.

Every CTac workshop has its own feel, shaped by the people in the room and the experiences they bring. In this last session, one participant shared about the yearly training he gets as a teacher—courses on how to handle kids who may become violent. We talked about what that looks like, how effective it really is, and how it impacts his own sense of safety in the classroom.

What stood out for him was the sticky hand drill. Unlike the “technique lists” he’d been given before, this simple exercise showed him how to actually get to control under resistance. It gave him feedback, flow, and a way to manage that uncertain space where things might escalate—or might not. He immediately connected it to those classroom moments where the goal isn’t to punish, but to keep everyone safe.

What if a nanny could tuck you in and disarm a security threat before breakfast? The Norland College grads practically redefine the term “childcare professional.”

Founded by Emily Ward in 1892, Norland College was revolutionary in its time. Ward recognized the lack of formal training in childcare and sought to professionalize the role of the nanny. Her curriculum emphasized child development, hygiene, and moral education—radical concepts that helped elevate nannying from domestic help to a respected vocation in British society.

Over the years, Norland’s syllabus expanded to meet the changing needs of elite families. By the late 20th century, as high-net-worth households faced growing public exposure and security risks, the college began incorporating modules in defensive driving, cyber safety, and even self-defense. These modern additions were designed to prepare nannies not just for nurturing duties but also for safeguarding roles.

Today, Norland graduates represent a rare blend of gentleness and grit. They’re trained to manage both the developmental needs of children and the logistical complexities of high-profile family life, offering protection, loyalty, and professional discretion at every turn.
