If words could describe this weekend, they would be grit and adversity.

While the weekend didn't end with a spot in the championship game, these girls showed exactly what it means to battle. We finished 3-2, with three come-from-behind victories in the final inning, refusing to quit no matter what the scoreboard said.

Our final game came down to inches. In fact, it literally came down to a foot. With a chance to take the lead and advance to the championship, we hit a ball that struck the very top of the fence and rolled underneath it for a ground-rule double. A few inches higher and it's a home run. Instead, we finished just one run short of moving on.

That's softball. Sometimes the game rewards you, and sometimes it teaches you.

What I'm most proud of is that this team never stopped fighting. They faced adversity all weekend, responded with resilience, and continued to believe in each other when things got tough. Those lessons will carry much further than any trophy ever could.

The growth of this team continues to be incredible. Every game, every inning, and every challenge is helping shape who we are becoming. Keep your heads high, ladies. Championships will come. The grit, heart, and determination you showed this weekend can't be taught—and that's what will make this team special.

The Top Gun 12U girls showed up not just as fans, but as a team with heart. They took the time to make posters, support every player, and bring energy to the field. You can see the excitement, the pride, and the love for the game in every single sign they’re holding.

And what makes it even more special—Rutgers didn’t come away with the win tonight. But you’d never know it by what happened after. Instead of heading off, those players stayed. They took pictures, smiled, connected, and gave these young athletes a moment they’ll never forget.

That’s bigger than a scoreboard.

That’s leadership. That’s role modeling. That’s showing the next generation what this game is really about—respect, passion, and giving back.

For those Top Gun girls, this wasn’t just a game… it was inspiration. And for a group of 12U players chasing their dreams, moments like this can last a lifetime. 💛🥎

Last night, Top Gun 12U Fastpitch Softball did something special.

Overnight tournament. Little sleep. Big stage.
And they showed up like champions.

💪 Dominant in the circle:
Three games, 23 STRIKEOUTS. Twenty-three. Absolute command. Power. Poise. Ice in our pitchers veins.

💥 Explosive at the plate:
18 runs scored.
A GRAND SLAM that lit up the night.
Clutch hitting up and down the lineup.

⚡ Relentless on the bases:
15 stolen bases. Pressure every inning. Aggressive. Smart. Fearless.

🧤 Lights-out defense:
Unbelievable fielding. Big plays. Clean innings. Backs picking up backs. Pitchers trusting their defense. Defense trusting their pitchers.

This wasn’t just a win.
This was grit.
This was toughness.
This was TEAM softball.

They played tired.
They played together.
They played Top Gun Strong. ✈️🔥

Top Gun 12U coaches are representing the program in Connecticut this weekend — continuing to invest in ourselves so we can invest even more into our players.

Coaching isn’t just about calling plays or making lineups; it’s about staying current, sharpening our craft, and pushing the standard of what it means to develop athletes the right way.

We talk to our players about the fundamentals — footwork, glove work, timing, angles, positioning, explosiveness, mindset — but that same mindset has to apply to us as coaches. You never outgrow the fundamentals. You never stop learning. You never stop refining..

Today was about more than just softball — it was about heart.

Instead of waking up and hitting the diamond, our girls spent the day giving back. Together, they joined Rutgers Residential Life and the Rutgers Softball team to help build care packages for children going through tough times.

After the event, we capped off the day by catching a Rutgers Football game — a perfect way to celebrate teamwork, compassion, and community.

These moments remind us that being part of Top Gun is bigger thajust a game..

Off-season training is officially underway! 💪
Starting today, our girls kicked off their speed and agility sessions, held every Tuesday for the next 20 weeks.

From speed and agility to indoor training and mental toughness development, every part of out program is designed to prepare them for the spring season both physically and mentally.

These girls are putting in the work and showing what it truly means to be Top Gun Strong. ✈️🔥
