"When you surround yourself with good people, Good Things Happen" That was never more evident than it was yesterday as we celebrated the life of Captain Stanley Zagleski III. The turn out of family and friends was heart warming and the weather was just as nice. Captain Stan had a good day among all of those who loved him, loved fishing aboard the Elaine B II and loved diving and searching the ocean floor with him !!! It was not farewell, it was thank you for the moments and memories we have all shared together. Forever in our hearts. Thanks for bringing us together "JR" We love you, Buddy !!!!

It is with a heavy heart to inform our Elaine B II customers and following that Captain Stanley Zagleski Jr., (JR) passed away suddenly this morning at the dock. We are all in shock and share in the sadness in the loss of our friend. As of this time fishing operations of the Elaine B II are suspended indefinitely. After our best day of the season yesterday we went righr back there again. We did not have the red hot bite as we did yesterday. We found decent fishing and ended up with a bunch of nice keepers along with a bunch of seabass to add to the coolers. Tom Hollywood Jr., Staten Island, NY took the pool honors .Back at it tomorrow. We sailed today on our 2nd Fluke Marathon trip of the season and everyone aboard enjoyed a day of excellent fishing. We headed off to the deep and found good drifting conditions and the BITE WAS ON !!! Although the drift in the deeper water required 8, 10 and even 12 oz. sinkers at times, everyone was able to get it done and was rewarded with some really nice keeper fluke and some of the biggest seabass we have seen in a while. Matt Schwartz of Springfield, NJ took the pool honors with a 4 lb. 15 oz. fish, as well as boating his limit of both fluke and seabass. Jim Anderson, Pete Turton, Paul Steiner, Jim Fells, Melanie Fazio, Guy Favorito, Ken Peters, Joe Carella, Gene Schultz and Tommy Garofalo all caught their limit of really nice fluke, many of which were 20+ inches. Nobody aboard had less than two keeper fluke today and the seabass padded the coolers. We will back at it tomorrow sailing at 7:30 am. Bring some heavier sinkers with you. Al and I will see you in the morning. Our August 2nd Fluke Marathon is fully booked. We are now taking reservations for the August 16th Marathon Trip. Sailed this morning with a light group of regulars. Headed back to the deep water where we had nice fish yesterday and found very similar results minus one doormat. Plenty of shorts and some VERY NICE keepers (20 inches and better) plus the usual seabass to pad the coolers. Mark G. from Bethlehem, PA took the pool honors. Junior Elaine B II angler "Jacxs" boated 2 nice keepers and his 2 seabass limit....."STRONG WORK" for a 10 year old !!! Tomorrow is our 2nd Fluke Marathon so we are not sailing open boat......Back to our regular 7:30 sailing on Tuesday... Al and Me will see you then...Captain Stan.

We headed off to try fishing some deeper water today and found mixed results. One area had very little life, while another produced good action on the shorts and some nicer keepers as well as our biggest fluke of the season. A mix of nicer sized seabass were also added to the coolers. John Farrell of Haskell, NJ took the pool honors with his 8 pound 14 ounce fluke. Ron Becker of Springfield, NJ had his limit of fluke and seabass to take high hook. Sailing tomorrow at 6am. Mike and I will see you then. TAKE NOTICE…Our second Fluke Marathon will be held this Monday and it is currently fully booked so we will not be sailing open boat.

We had a nice group of regulars aboard today who found good fishing with lots of short action and a bunch of very nice keepers to place on ice. Catches ranged up to limits with most having at least one keeper to bring home. John Farrell, Haskell, took the pool with a 7.5 pound fish caught on a custom Golstein Jig. Natural baits as well as spro/jig rigs all worked equally well today. Back at it tomorrow. SAILING 7:30 AM. Mike and I will see you in the morning. Captain Stan.
