As a whole the idea is to get people from all walks of life and different skill sets to build a community within our community to secure our sustainability. If our economy fails in which its going to EVERYONE will be left

in the dark. But if we have a well planned, well regulated community we can avoid the chaos and tremendously improve our chances for survival. Our town is rich full of resources. We have everything we need right here and some fringe benefits to boot. Highland has a rich history of doing what has been needed to be done in order to secure its future and the future of its community. I hope we can make Louis Latzer among the others proud of us. WE ARE NOT A "PREPPER" GROUP!!! I avoid those words due to the stigma associated with them. HOWEVER we will be prepared. The other function of the group is to discuss whats important to our community and our nation and i would love to set up training for anything we are skilled in so people from the different skill sets can cross train. You could think of us as one of the initial colonies which would and could take action in case of a disaster or other event deeming our service. If something really big happens were on our own. FEMA cant even handle one natural disaster we cant expect them to be much help in a national disaster.

We're close enough that it's time to get this started. We are very close to 4000 members. That is awesome! I appreciate you all for being a member and participating in the group. You all have done a tremendous job. I have decided to use a random Facebook comment picker for all 3 prizes. This is the only post that comments will count on so comment here only.

I will do the drawing live so there is no Tom Foolery to be had. I will announce the date and time of the livestream after we officially surpass 4000 members and give a day or so for late entries. Everyone who comments has an equal chance to win. You will have to pick the decals up. I live close to the corner of 19th and Olive and will provide the address to the winners.

Included in each set are:
1 Large Highland decal measuring 6" X 5.45"
2 Small Highland decals measuring 3" X 2.73"

Soon after the contest, I will make them available to purchase on the Marketplace. Good Luck and Thank You all for being a great community.

Good afternoon. This is Mike however I am posting from this page for multiple reasons. For one it is a public page unlike our Discussion Group so you can share the page and its contents. Secondly, being that it is a page versus a group we can keep things more organized and on track.

In the group, I have said that I have an intent to help get people in Highland engaged in our local electoral process. I also fully intend to do everything I can to get as much information as I can on current and future board members. If we are to fix the issues we first have to get rid of individuals not making sound decisions for Highland and its residents. That can only be done by electing responsible and moral individuals to the town board who can in turn send any bad actors packing. It is a slow but sure process and if there is anywhere your vote counts most it is locally.

I cannot do this alone. I will need the help and support of the community. I need input mostly. I need to hear the good, the bad, and the ugly. I am willing to take this as far and as deep as you want me to. This includes interviewing current and or potential board candidates, taking our own polls to get a consensus on how We The People feel as well as anything else that will be needed.

I will need guidance, direction, and most certainly prayers. I love this town with all my heart and I will fight for it with everything I have.

I also need input on what you think should be on the website I created. The sky is the limit pretty much. Tell me what you would like to see and what would be beneficial and well make it happen.
