We are so excited to congratulate former Lark Malcolm Mann and the Mid-America Christian University Evangels in their victory tonight in the NAIA D1 championship game. Malcolm scored 23 points, including the game winner (shot as close to the buzzer as possible without actually being late), en route to being named the Player of the Game. The announcers remarked repeatedly about Malcolm as a basketball player, but also about Malcolm as a person, something those of us in Lark Nation already knew! We are proud of you, Malcolm!

Tayleene and I are in Hesston this weekend for basketball games. It's great to watch the boys play, but it is has been on my heart this year that we are missing someone. Kaden Vanderpool, we want you to know that you are not forgotten. We miss your hard work on the court, and even more we miss your smiling face and bright, friendly attitude. Our boys still talk about you. We wish you the best and are praying for you.

The first pic in this set is one of my favorite from last year. It actually isn't a very good picture of Kaden, as you can barely see him, but what I love is the looks on the faces of the opposing players on the bench as Kaden shot that three pointer. It was a huge shot, at a critical juncture in the game, and Kaden nailed it.
