Neena "Dang3rous" Kik Racing My official racing page allowing all sponsors and fans the opportunity to follow me through my racing season. From then on, there was no looking back.

Join me in endeavor on the local short tracks in the Pacific Northwest. There's petrol power, there's turbo power and there's girl power. I have decided all three are extravagant and thrilling. I was born and raised in the racing realm, from oval car racing to sand drags. Racing is and has always been in my blood and been a dream of mine. In 2011, Steve Jackson afforded me the opportunity to start

with my own Acura, that was painted Pepto-Bismol pink with a large purple 6 painted on it. Racing the hornet class was the best opportunity a woman could ever ask for, but I knew I needed something much faster. Therefore in 2012, my amazing parents, Bill and Bonnie Kik bought me my Sedan as seen in the previous pictures. The first time I stepped foot into my legend car I immediately developed another family. There are no words to explain the love and passion I get from everyone with Columbia River Legends and other racers associated with this class. In the years I have been racing, I have learned how to be a mechanic, team member, support system, strong female in a male world, and humble. Here are some quotes that have hit home:

“On a given day, a given circumstance, you think you have a limit. And you then go for this limit and you touch this limit, and you think, 'Okay, this is the limit'. And so you touch this limit, something happens and you suddenly can go a little bit further. With your mind power, your determination, your instinct, and the experience as well, you can fly very high.”
― Ayrton Senna

*and*

“Winning has nothing to do with racing. Most days don't have races anyway. Winning is about struggle and effort and optimism, and never, ever, ever giving up.”
― Amby Burfoot

and finally here is a quote from me:

"I may not be the best or the fastest racer on the track, but I am the best racer I can be when I
enter onto the track". The best feelings of racing is when I open the car door after sliding on my helmet, cinching myself into the seat and becoming one with the car, taking the steering wheel into my hands, and entering a zone that is unexplainable yet exhilarating. There is no turning back from here the adrenaline is now my addiction. The best part of racing is not winning, but being the role model to the up and coming racers. There are struggles and heartbreaks in every race but seeing the huge smiles on adults and childrens faces when they get the opportunity to cheer on, sit, stand or take a picture in a race car makes this racers day every single time.

Sundays Duel in the desert is in the books at Hermiston Raceway. We started the night out fighting the car in practice, made some much needed adjustments and qualified 3rd out of 19 cars. But the kudos goes to my awesome nephew Brody Whitbeck who qualified in the #1 spot with a 16.982. Moved into the main event with confidence and some great speed. Ran the fastest lap in the main event with a 16.892.

I have to thank my Mom and dad (Bill Kik and Bonnie Hamby Kik) for allowing me the opportunity to live this dream to race. My sister Chelsea Marie Kik-Whitbeck and Niece Malorie Whitbeck for entertaining the apple of my eye every race day. Peyton Saxton with ThirdGen Racing for the amazing set up, Ray Whitbeck and Jeff Whitbeck for all their endless hard work during the week and on race day giving me a car I can drive and the constant support on and off the track. And then there is Trace Thompson, You are the man. I was always skeptical of running radios, but you have made it a very positive experience. If it wasn't for you in the radio when i'm in the car I would constantly revert back to old behaviors. And Dave David Dean for the support and assistance at the track.

I probably am missing some important people. But I know if it wasn't for everyone I wouldn't be where I am today.

Now, for what has been weighing on me all night. I have to apologize to my team for overdriving my car towards the end of the race and not sitting on the podium. It has been running through my head all night to a point I didn't sleep. With 7 laps to go, my car went away. If i would have just remained consistent and feathered that throttle i would have most likely finished in 2nd. But slammed the throttle spinning the RR tire coming off turn 2 getting stupid loose, and losing 2 positions. I fought hard to maintain position 4 to the end of the race. If only I stayed calm, drove consistent and, listened to Ray Whitbeck, Jeff Whitbeck, and Trace Thomspson and remained cool, I would have done it. I apologize for disappointing everyone including myself. You all are making me a better driver. And I want to THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart.

But on to the next one. We have to live and learn, and grow.

We concluded our 3 days of racing Saturday evening at the Chilly W***y in Tucson AZ. on Friday, I finished 14th out of 24 in the main event. Saturday Feature 1 (Regional Qualifier) finished 18 out of 25, and Feature 2 finished 14th out of 24.

A great weekend of racing and loved running a new track, and learning from watching some of the best drivers and driving teams around. Thank you to my Dad, Ray & Brody Whitbeck, Payton Saxton and his ThirdGen crew.

But this lady is exhausted.

Next race is scheduled to be ran at Havasu 95 Speedway in March 2024.
