After taking some time off, it’s time to ramp back up! We are a little over a month out from Speed and Agility Camp. Reminder this camp is open to anyone in the district, not just people who do/are interested in track. Forms are due July 1st!

What a weekend for HHS Track! We had 3 athletes qualify to the state championships in a total of 4 events. We came home with 4 all-state honors.

Faith led us off with a 6th place finish in shot put. Then Nolan had the next two medals finishing 4th in the 3200m and 7th in the 1600m. Ryker got to conclude our season with a 7th place finish in the 400m.

An amazing job by these individuals this weekend, and all season. Thank you to them, and to the entire team for supporting each other through the year and making this season as great as it was! Now, though we will greatly miss our seniors who led the way this year, we start looking forward to the opportunities ahead of us next season.

We have three athletes this year who qualified to go through to state. Ryker Ash qualified in the 400m, Faith Gabathuler in the Shot Put, and Nolan Kopp in the 1600m and 3200m. Congratulations to all three of these outstanding individuals, and good luck this weekend!

Also, a little extra shoutout to Nolan for his birthday today, you can see how his teammates wanted to celebrate that on the last slide 🤣

As we prepare to head to South Callaway High School on this soggy Saturday morning, we wanted to recognize all of our All District/Sectional Qualifying athletes. We qualified through a total of ten athletes in a variety of events. Then we also wanted to give a special shout out to Nolan Kopp for his district winning races in both the 1600 and 3200.

Daeden has been working hard playing football at the next level with the Missouri Tigers, so when we got a chance to catch up with our school record holder last night, we were excited to take that opportunity to let him update the record board!

Daeden broke the record multiple times at the end of the season last year as he was peaking at the right time on his way to state. His eventual best mark was 57.86m, highlighting just a small part of this young man’s immense talent. Congratulations Daeden, and we hope you continue to show your incredible talents and work ethic for years to come!

After seeing it posted on some other pages, Coach forgot to come back and recognize two more school records that happened last week…. 😅

On Monday the 30th, Junior Colin Nunnally broke the school record in the triple jump with a mark of 12.79m, edging Conner Coffey’s previous record by 2cm.

Then on Tuesday the 31st, 8th grader Kennedy Schwenck broke the MS girls triple jump record with a jump of 9.66m. Kennedy takes the record from Megan Gerloff, who set the previous record at 9.38m in 2017.

Congratulations to both! This is an exciting trend for the rest of our season!

Also this weekend, senior Nolan Kopp got an opportunity to run his first 3200m race against some very stout competition at the McCullough-Douglass Invitational hosted by Festus HS. Nolan used this high caliber race to set a new school record by a margin of more than 20 seconds, taking the record spot from class of 2020 alum Dalton Gleeson. Congratulations to Nolan, we are looking forward to the rest of your season!!!
