Middle School Girls:
I am beyond excited to welcome back Abi Elerick — or should I say, Head Coach Abi Elerick!

Abi has a long history with lacrosse, including four years playing attack for our High School Spartans. She and her family have deep roots within the Spartans and truly understand what our program is all about.
Abi is passionate about the game, but what she loves most is the friendships, teamwork, and confidence that lacrosse builds. She is excited to build on what this group accomplished in Year 1 and is committed to helping our girls grow their skills, build confidence, and, most importantly, have fun!
As we met with candidates for the Head Coach position, we kept hearing things like:
“Abi is great! Full of energy.”
“What’s not to like?! She’s perfect!”
“She’s one of us. A true Spartan.”
We couldn’t agree more.
Please join us in welcoming back Coach Abi!

LACROSSE WAS VIABLE WHEN FUNDING FOR STADIUMS WAS NEEDED

Thank you to the community members and parents who have taken the time to research the public comments and discussions surrounding the potential inclusion of lacrosse in Sumner County Schools.

To date, they have been unable to find any historical, publicly expressed concerns or objections to adding lacrosse. The clips they have located are from 2023–2024, when it was clearly stated that lacrosse was coming to Sumner County Schools.

Since those statements were made, lacrosse has continued to grow—not only in Sumner County, but across Tennessee.

Most importantly, TSSAA has confirmed that it is NOT too late to add lacrosse for the 2026–2027 school year.
The remaining barriers are administrative.

08/04/2026

Despite what was stated very clearly at the last two School Board meetings—that a school can have a lacrosse team if it has the interest and players—the reality is that principals continue to view this as a district-level decision.

We are following the direction that was given by encouraging students to contact their principals, only for those students to be told their principals are unable to help as these discussions take place at the district level.

Lacrosse is a spring sport. TSSAA has confirmed it is still not too late for Sumner County Schools to add the sport for the 2026–2027 school year. Equipment vendors have confirmed they can deliver everything needed in time, and parents and local businesses have offered to fund the program.

The obstacles that remain are administrative—not financial or logistical.
We respectfully ask Sumner County Schools to help these student-athletes by allowing them the opportunity to represent their schools and compete against their peers across TN during the 2026–2027 season.

As discussions continue regarding future policies, we respectfully ask that immediate action not be delayed. Today's students have a limited window to participate in high school athletics. Every year of delay means another group of student-athletes loses an opportunity they cannot get back. We ask district leaders to identify a path forward now so these students can compete this spring while any longer-term policy questions are addressed.

The information in this post(4 of 4) includes:

1. The Lacrosse Clubs closing statement to school board members on July 16, 2026.
2. The roster information that was provided to the County Schools Athletic Director on 7/3
3. Supporting information provided to SCS AD, Superintendent of SCS, and the SCS Board Members regarding correspondence with TSSAA.

Our goal is simple: to ensure the community has access to the same factual information that was presented to district leadership.

Thanks to all for the great conversation and questions. The students truly appreciate your support.
