This one is for the athlete.

The high school baseball or softball player about to walk into the biggest summer of their life.

My senior year I was the 10th overall pick in the entire country. And I couldn’t wait for the scouts to show up. Not because I needed their validation. Because I knew what I had. I was Him. I was the guy. The one.

I treated everyone on that field with respect. But when that game started — I was going to compete with everything I had. I would smoke you. But I would never embarrass you.

That’s confidence. Not arrogance.

And here’s what I want every athlete to hear. That belief doesn’t come from your coach. It doesn’t come from your parents or your rankings or your showcase results. It comes from you. It was always you.

The athlete who walks onto that field knowing who he is — that athlete is unguardable.

Be Him. Be Her. Be the one.

Parents — share this with your athlete. 👇

🧠 Free Live Training Call This Sunday — 4 PM Pacific

Does this sound familiar?

Your athlete has a bad game and you don’t know what to say. You want to fix it for them but nothing you try seems to work. The car ride home is tense. You can see the frustration on their face and feel it in your own chest.

You’re not a bad parent. You just haven’t been given the right tools.

This Sunday I’m hosting a free live call where I’m going to teach The Self-Coaching Model — the same framework I use 1-on-1 with athletes in my coaching program. It’s a $250 value and it’s yours free.

You’ll walk away knowing exactly why your athlete thinks and feels the way they do after a tough performance — and what to do about it.

To grab your spot:
DM me your email and I’ll send you the link directly.

📅 Sunday | 4 PM Pacific | Free

Drop a 🙋‍♀️ in the comments or DM me now. Spots are limited.

A mom finished my book and got on a coaching call with me last week.

At the end of that call she said she finally felt less heavy and free.

Two words that every sports parent carrying the weight of their athlete’s journey needs to hear.

This mom was not a bad parent.

She was loving. She was invested. She was doing everything she thought a good sports parent was supposed to do.

But underneath all of that investment was a constant stream of thoughts about how her son should be doing things. How he should be progressing. What boxes still needed to be checked.

And all of those thoughts were creating a weight she carried every single day.

Here is what changed.

We did not talk about what she needed to do differently on the sideline.

We looked at the thoughts creating the weight.

And the moment she could see those thoughts clearly something shifted.

Before she changed a single behavior she started to feel relief.

Because she realized the weight she had been carrying was not her son’s journey.

It was her thoughts about his journey.

And thoughts can be changed.

That freedom is not just available to her.

It is available to you right now.

Not after your athlete gets the scholarship.

Not after every box is checked.

Now.

The weight you are carrying is not your athlete’s journey.

It is your thoughts about their journey.

And that is something we can work on together.

🎯 DM me the word EDGE if you are ready to put the weight down. Let’s get on a call together. That is where it starts.

The showboating you are seeing at the College World Series did not start there.

It started in the big leagues.

And your kid has been watching it.

They watch their favorite big leaguer pimp a home run and slowly walk down the first base line.

They see a pitcher scream after a strikeout.

And they think — that is what baseball looks like.

It trickles down every single time.

And somewhere in that trickle down is a parent who either said something or said nothing.

So let me ask you directly.

What are you building?

Are you building an athlete who wins with grace and loses with dignity?

Or one who needs to shove their success in their opponent’s face to feel like they won?

I am not against intensity. I am not against passion.

But there is a canyon of difference between competing with everything you have and needing to humiliate your opponent to feel powerful.

The most ferocious competitors I ever played with could be absolutely ruthless in their desire to win —

And still walk off that field and shake their opponent’s hand like they meant it.

Because your opponent is not your enemy.

They are the reason you get to compete at all.

The character traits built on a youth baseball field do not stay there.

They follow your athlete into every classroom, every workplace, every relationship of their adult life.

You are not just raising an athlete.

You are raising a human being.

And that starts with you right now.
