And just like that, another outdoor track and field season is over.

Yesterday was the final day of state, and we had our fourth podium finish of the weekend as Paityn B. finished 3rd in the girls 100m hurdles with a time of 15.68! And she's just a sophomore!

Other highlights of day three include our girls 4x100m relay team finishing 7th in the state, and this is a team comprised of mostly 8th and 9th graders and a 10th grader! Caiden S. also finished 5th in the state in the boys 110m hurdles, and he is just a sophomore too.

The future looks bright for Hazel Green track and field!

It's a wrap for day two of state, and we had two podium finishes!

Nehemiah J. got his second podium finish this weekend by finishing 2nd in the boys 3200m with a PR time of 9:23.

Kwesi J. finished 3rd in boys triple jump with a leap of 47-1!

Paityn B. qualified for her second finals event by finishing 4th in the girls 100m hurdles semi-finals with a time of 15.54. She will run this finals tomorrow along with being a part of the girls 4x100m relay team that also made the finals for tomorrow.

Caiden S. qualified for the 110m hurdles finals by finishing 4th in the semi-finals with a time of 15.24.

The final day of state kicks off tomorrow!

Day one of state is in the books.

Nehemiah J. had a podium finish in the boys 1600m by finishing 3rd with a time of 4:18.

Other highlights of day one include the girls 4x100m relay team qualifying for the finals to be held on Saturday.

Paityn B. finished 5th overall out of 24 contestants in the girls 300m hurdles with a time of 45.1. Caiden S. and Myles P. rounded out the top 8 in the boys 300m hurdles by finishing 7th and 8th respectively.

We're rested and up and ready to see what day two holds!

We're still waiting for the performance lists for the state meet to see if we can get a few more athletes to qualify.

All in all, the Trojans went to battle yesterday and today. We had some bright moments and a few heartbreaking moments as well, but we prevailed and emerged with some individual and team spoils of war. The coaching staff is so proud of each and every one of our athletes!

At the Blackbear Invitational this past Saturday, several Trojans performed well as a final tune up before sectionals.

Paityn B. won the girls 100m hurdles with a Milesplit school record breaking time of 14.47. She also broke the Milesplit school record in the 300m hurdles with a time of 44.61 and finished 3rd in the girls 100m with a time of 12.31.

Myles P. won the boys 110m hurdles with a time of 14.72.

Milton S. won boys high jump with a leap of 6-0.

Danielle V. finished 2nd in the girls 3200m with a time of 13:27.

London B. finished 2nd in girls javelin with a toss of 93-0.

Juliette D. finished 3rd in the girls 200m with a time of 27.24.

Savannah F. finished 3rd in the girls 800m with a time of 2:33.

And the girls 4x800m relay team (Danielle V., Sakura H., Emmerson F., Avelyn J.) finished 2nd with a time of 11:23.
