With a client on an extended leave, I had the opportunity to bring someone in for a 6-week, 2x/week program with a month of nutrition coaching. It is a great way to open up space for my waitlist ladies… but it’s also tough, because just as momentum builds, it’s time to say goodbye and I hate saying goodbye.

Today was our final session together, and we rechecked measurements and weight. Despite being in one of the busiest seasons of her life, pulled in every direction, she showed up and implemented changes where she could.

In just 6 weeks:
• Strength increased steady each week
• Endurance improved significantly
• 5.45 inches & 0.2 lbs lost

I’m so proud of her and truly hope we get to work together again when a long-term spot opens up, and I will miss seeing her here every week.

Also, I measured two other clients today who, in just 3 months, have lost a combined 17.5 lbs and 19.25 inches. On top of that, my extended leave client returned and managed to lose another 1.75" during her absence.

And while we’re on the topic of measurements…and real life....

Some stats will go up. Some will go down. Some will stay the same.

That is NORMAL.

Bodies fluctuate. Composition shifts. Progress isn’t linear, especially as you get closer to your goals.

This is exactly why tracking your weights, your reps, and your performance matters so much.

Because at the end of the day:
Strength and overall ability > the number on the scale.

Congrats ladies! Keep it up!

Happy 1 Year Anniversary to Ridge Wellness! 🎉

I’ll be honest, if it weren’t for Facebook memories, I probably wouldn’t have even realized. This year has absolutely flown by. It feels like just yesterday we were fighting with those sound absorption panels (and yes… still fighting them 😅) and figuring out what it actually took to open the doors.

I am beyond humbled and grateful for every single one of you who has walked through these doors and trusted me to help you reach your goals. Whether you were here for a short time or are still showing up week after week, you matter to me.

This first year has taught me a lot, but three things have stood out the most:

✨ I don’t like letting people down.
I’ve worked hard to avoid canceling or rescheduling whenever possible. But I’ve also learned how gracious and understanding this community is. When life happens, you’ve shown me so much grace, and I don’t take that lightly.

✨ Everyone is different… yet so similar.
Different stories, different abilities, different challenges, but the same determination. Even when your mind tells you that you can’t, you prove it wrong and you deserve so much recognition for that. Often times it's just walking in the door that is the absolute hardest thing to do, yet you continue to do it! 👏

✨ Owning a business is hard… and completely worth it.
From scheduling, programming, and coaching, to taxes, insurance, and everything in between....it’s a lot. And some days are mentally tough. But every single second is worth it. When I’m in the gym with you, I know without a doubt this is exactly where I’m meant to be. I feel incredibly blessed to do what I do.

Thank you to everyone who has supported Ridge Wellness, whether you’ve trained with me, shared posts, told a friend, or simply followed along. It all means more than you know.

To the owners of the building I have the privilege of working in, thank you!
This space means so much to me, and I’m incredibly grateful for your flexibility, support, and willingness to help along the way. Having a place to grow this business has made all the difference.

I also can’t go without recognizing my biggest supporter, my husband. ❤️
He has encouraged me from the very beginning and continues to be the one who helps make all of this possible. Even when I feel like I’m spinning, he grounds me. He’s been incredibly understanding with the schedule that comes with this business and has stepped up in more ways than I could have ever asked, without complaint. He truly is a rockstar, and I am so grateful for everything he is and everything he does.
THANK YOU ALL!
Here’s to another year 💙

Since day one, my vision for Ridge Wellness has been to expand our reach far beyond our four walls to help anyone looking for fitness advice. I love "talking shop" and sharing practical, space-saving, and budget-friendly ways to utilize what you already have at home. Exercise needs to fit seamlessly into your life, and everyone's routine looks a little different.
To help you spice up your home gym (or living room!), I’m sharing a few of my favorite affordable equipment additions. I recently completed a full workout using only these items, and let me tell you, it was an absolute burner!

🔥 Budget-Friendly Home Gym Essentials

💚 Elevated Blocks
Where to find them: Walmart or Amazon

The workout: Think elevated squats, elevated lunges, and calf raises. They are a simple but incredibly effective way to increase your range of motion.

💚Flat Blocks
Where to find them: Walmart or Amazon.

The workout: These are fantastic for adding depth to pushups, doing uneven pushups or squats, and tackling deep core work. Honestly, these were the cheapest addition to the gym, and I use them for everything. Something so simple adds serious fire to living room workouts.

💚Resistance Bands
My favorite: DANK Athletics (Medium to Heavy resistance).

The workout: These are a serious burner! Wear them around the house for walking lunges, or pair them with weights to double the intensity. You can use them for your legs, glutes, core, and even upper body. The options are endless.

💚Modified Barbell (for Dumbbells)

The perks: Usually under $100, lightweight, and super easy to store.

The workout: This has been such a fun addition to the gym. You can attach any size dumbbells you want to it and use it for deadlifts, front or back squats, lunges, bicep curls, upright rows and more.

Don't ever feel like you need a massive, fully equipped gym to get the results you're looking for. The true secret to success is consistency, no matter what equipment you're using.

I hope this helps! If you have any questions or want more tips, feel free to reach out.

This is a longer post, but one very worth reading. These are real stories that speak to the power of strength training.

When two of my clients said, “For our one-year training anniversary, we want to get tattoos and you’re coming with us,” I didn’t hesitate for a second. I am honored and humbled that they chose me to be on this journey with them.

Each of us carries a story: one of growth, resilience, and choosing to show up, even on the hardest days.
My hope is that every time they look at their ink, they see their strength, their commitment, and just how far they’ve come.
A permanent reminder to keep going. 💛
I’m so proud to share their stories… and mine.

"I had been asking God for a change in my life for a while... Something new, different, and challenging for me. I asked for a sign when I came across Breanna's post about Community Ed in Hawley. I recall sitting next to my sister as we had for YEARS on the couch enabling each other to be sedentary. Coincidentally enough she had been asking for the same thing. She had actually been inviting me to walk with her all summer and I would turn her down due to lack of motivation. I told her what do you say.. want to join me? And the rest is history as they say. Breanna has shared her gym and knowledge with us for a little over a year now. We have done things I have never imagined I would do at my age.. like box jumps and burpees! And even though I do struggle I try my best. Each day we make improvements and have come a long ways from day 1. I am so thankful we took that chance and leap of faith and also for the friendship we have created along the way ❤️. When I decided what I wanted for my tattoo I wanted it to remind me why I started. Something to remind me of the strength that He gives me to simply show up... because that proves to be the hardest some days. I know this is just the beggining of our journey and look forward to adding to the tattoo next year at our next anniversary! Cant wait! Thank you Breanna for always believing in us.. a lot of days more than we believe in ourselves! 😘 You are what inspires and motivates me everyday!" - tattoo on the right

“I’ve come such a long way, from barely being able to do much to achieving things I once thought were impossible. This tattoo represents my love for lifting and the incredible transformation it’s brought into my life, both mentally and physically. I’m so grateful to have Breanna in my life. She’s helped me believe in myself and uncover my strength. She’s not just an amazing trainer, but also a true friend and an absolute badass. 😘😘😘”- tattoo on the left

"The weeds mark the struggle that once threatened to drown me, while the dumbbell marks the clarity that pulled me out. Strength training saved my life, and faith gave me the ground to stand on.

I actually went back for a second session to add more weeds to the design. The first amount just didn't capture the reality of it all. I needed to honor exactly how deep that struggle was, because I fought through the thickest overgrowth to find a light that no shadow could touch.

As John 1:5 says, "The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it." ✨

I am no longer defined by the weeds, but by the strength that broke through them. To those who don't know my story, the ink might not make sense, and that’s okay. It wasn’t meant for them; it’s my permanent reminder of where I’ve been and how I got here.

But if you ask, I’ll tell you: this is my proof that no matter how thick the overgrowth, the light always wins. 🌿💪🕊️" -tattoo in the middle (mine)

CONGRATULATIONS to our March Nutrition Challenge winner- Kayla H! 🔥

She has been absolutely on fire. From consistently tracking her food, hitting her calories and macros, making intentional choices, staying on top of her water, and checking in regularly, she has truly shown what commitment looks like.

Honestly, she’s even been inspiring me just by reading her journal entries. That’s the kind of energy we love to see. 👏

She said it best herself:
“It finally all clicked-consistency, consistency.”

And she’s right. She’s seeing results, feeling amazing, and it shows in everything she’s doing. I couldn’t be more excited for her and can’t wait to watch her keep this momentum going!

For those who may have missed it, this challenge was centered around a full month of tracking in MyFitnessPal. Each participant shared their diary entries with me, received personalized feedback weekly, and I also sent out group summaries highlighting trends, both the wins and areas to improve.

This was something I offered completely free as a way to give back. Every participant contributed $15, with Ridge Wellness matching the total. 100% of that pot went directly to our winner. While it was definitely time-intensive on my end, it was more than worth it to see these women continue to prioritize themselves, learn, and grow. 💛

💸 $210 coming your way, Kayla! Well deserved!

Let’s show her some love in the comments! 💛

It’s not often that I have to share disheartening news on this page, but today is one of those days.

After working through the final details to get group classes up and running, I’ve unfortunately lost my group class instructor. Due to some unexpected life changes, she’s no longer able to accommodate a class schedule. Wishing her well on her new journey!

I know many of you were really excited about this offering, and I share in that disappointment. This is something I was genuinely looking forward to bringing to our community.

That said, I’m actively searching for a new instructor who would be interested in leading a class focused on bodyweight, light weights, Pilates-style movement, and mobility-based training. These would be small, intentional classes (6–10 people max), not heavy lifting or large group formats. You make your own schedule; good flexibility & great people!

If you—or someone you know—might be a good fit, please reach out to me directly at 701-388-7867.

I truly hope this is something we can still bring to Ridge Wellness in the near future. It’s just not the right time…yet.

Please help spread the word!

Common misconception: you have to be quiet, composed, and “put together” in the gym.

At Ridge Wellness, it’s the exact opposite.
This private space matters because you’re in a place where you can do whatever it takes to get through a tough session. Swear, breathe heavy, grunt, yell, fart, pray, sing, talk to yourself, make faces, dance, shimmy, shake… I don’t care. Do what you’ve gotta do. I've seen and done it all!

The only thing I don’t want to hear?
“I can’t.”

The workouts I create aren’t meant to be easy. And when you’re fighting for those last few reps, things might get a little chaotic, a little loud, a little unfiltered… good. That tells me it’s working.

Buying prizes and giving back to my clients is truly a joy-bringer for me. I love coming up with little ideas that I hope will inspire and uplift each one of them.

I’m a sucker for tiny things, so when I saw these cute little mushrooms, I knew they had to be part of the February plank challenge winners’ gifts.

For the March nutrition challenge, the winner will receive $210 cold hard cash, which will hopefully bring a little extra joy too. Sometimes we all just need that extra incentive to keep pushing forward, and I’m more than happy to do that for these gals.

They show up, they put in the work, and it’s fun for me to celebrate them along the way. 🍄💪✨

Well, the final numbers are in for the February Plank Challenge and I couldn’t be more proud. Major progress was made across the board.

Sometimes it takes getting out of your own head, focusing on your breathing, putting yourself somewhere else mentally, having someone telling you not to quit, and reminding yourself that you are capable.

Our standard plank winner held an incredible 5:22 - on elbows and toes on the floor.
Our modified plank winner held 6:00 - elbows on the bench.

Both of these women made huge progress from the very first time they held a plank. Want to know something else they have in common? Foot pain (for different reasons). Zero excuses.

The modified plank winner shared with me that she had been praying all week for God to give her the strength to prove to herself that she could surpass her previous goal. ☺️ When the shaking started, she kept holding… just like so many of these ladies did.

Honestly, they’re better than me. I’ve yet to hold one as long as they did. They all deserve every bit of recognition and more. These women continue to prove to themselves just what they are capable of.

Next up: Nutrition Challenge starting Monday.
And let’s be honest… we all need this one , myself included.
Let’s do this. 👏 💪

The clients who see the most success all have a few things in common, and these are the exact same tools I’ve used every single time I’ve changed my own body composition. These very things are also what nobody wants to hear. Why? Because they require work. Discipline. Ownership. And not everyone wants it bad enough to do it.

• They limit or completely remove alcohol. Results are simply better without it. There’s no way around that.

• They lift heavier than they think they can and focus on progressive overload. Over time, that’s what reshapes their body and builds real muscle.

• They track their food consistently. If you aren’t tracking, you don’t have data, and without data, you can’t adjust.

• They hit their macros, especially protein. Lifting weights means nothing if you’re not fueling your body to recover and grow.

• They don’t rely on excessive cardio. They lift, they walk, and they stay consistent. Aiming for around 10k steps per day.

• They trust the process and trust their coach. Respectfully, why invest in coaching if you don’t plan to follow their advice?

• They understand that real change takes time. Months. Sometimes years. They know progress is happening even on the days it doesn’t feel like it.

There’s nothing flashy here. Just fundamentals, done consistently. What sets Ridge Wellness apart is that we truly care about every persons success. Give me your all, and ill give you mine. 🤗
