Founded in 2009 by Erin McCartney (now Rozniakowski) and her sister, Melissa, Kyniska was created to provide more opportunities for young girls to play AAU basketball. Based in the Western Philadelphia suburbs, Kyniska's home base is the Main Line/Springfield/Media area. Our players, however, hail from as far as Ridley, Phoenixville, West Chester, and Souderton. Kyniska's approach to travel basket
ball is a focus on player development, positive coaching and playing time to build confidence in all of our players. Our reputation for fundamental skills development is undeniable in the MidAtlantic AAU area. We changed the game with our commitment to teams of just ten players, more practice time, a core fundamental skills curriculum and a playing time requirement for all but our highest level, the 11 Grade National Team - also known as the White Team. Our Tryout Process is known for its positive atmosphere, unbiased evaluation, and in person selection. We embrace face-to-face feedback and encouragement of all players to engage in the tryout process, to challenge themselves by risking failure, and giving them the opportunity to process feedback so that they may build resilience skills and improve both mentally and physically.
