Our Collegiate Athlete of the Week is
Meet J, who is heading into his senior year at Widener University. Over the years, he's become one of the team's most versatile players, stepping up wherever he's needed, whether that's at center, flanker, or wing.
One of the things J loves most about Widener's rugby program is the opportunity it provides to travel throughout Pennsylvania and surrounding states, experiencing places he may never have visited otherwise while competing at the collegiate level. It gives the team something to look forward to every weekend and creates memories that last far beyond the game itself.
For Jeremiah, rugby is all about acceptance. No matter your experience or skill level, everyone has the chance to make an impact both on and off the field. The support and encouragement he receives from experienced players and coaches continue to motivate him to improve every day.
When we asked him why he chose Media RFC, he said:
I love Media Rugby for its complexity and the mix of players with different skill levels and years of experience. There is always room for improvement and opportunities to learn from others. It's a men's league that constantly pushes you to become a better rugby player.
As J enters his final year at Widener, we've enjoyed watching his growth both as a player and a teammate. If all goes according to plan, we'll be welcoming a talented and versatile player back to Media RFC after graduation, someone who has improved tremendously with each season and still has plenty of rugby ahead of him.
