I’ve been getting a lot of calls with questions and in some cases accusations in relation to Catfish Chasers.
Let me clear the air once and for all. There is absolutely no hard feelings between me, Richard, or Courtney about them stepping away from Catfish Chasers.
After 22 years of running the series I retired.
I am honored that they attempted to make this legacy go on. Most folks do not understand the amount of time and sacrifice it takes to run a competitive series in fishing or any sport.
It didn’t work out but I’m not sorry that they tried. Thank you both for your efforts and the success you did have. You had the largest tourney turnout in the Midwest with your very first event at Milford and it went great. The economy and life is a big balance struggle and it makes things very difficult.
Continue with your success with Nebraska Wildcats and PLEASE have no regrets!!!
With that said I believe that us anglers need to reboot. It seems in the last few years we as anglers don’t promote and support these directors for the sacrifices and commitment they must have to be successful. It seems much easier to tear them down than to pick them up. In the old days anglers would share and promote the efforts and the successes versus nit picking everything to the point that it is impossible to live up to expectations and the stress is just not worth it.
If we don’t come back to supporting those people that are willing to do the work for your entertainment, then there will be no one willling to do it.
Please as one angler to you all, let’s get back to the roots and real reason we like to participate in these events. Friendships, sharing, and community. These are the things that make us strong and separates us from the rest of the craziness we deal with each and every day
There are many series out there that need our support. Let’s give it to them.
To put any doubts to bed,
I WILL NOT BE operating Catfish Chaser events in the future. This is the end of an era and it’s been an amazing ride and I am leaving with SOOO MANY memories.
