"We few, we happy few, we band of brothers." A day that started with Henry V ends with it as well. Whether 90 seconds, 40 minutes, or the whole match, everyone did their part.

The boys supported one another, ran for each other, linked passes, and played the way they've been practicing all year. This is how we want to play. This is winning footy, and these boys have earned it.

It gets difficult to say something after coming so close. Today the boys worked our plan well. The defense stood firm and stayed attached like we worked on, allowing only one goal on a long range effort. The attack generated 21 shots and put 13 of them on target, just could not get the ball to hit the back of the net. The final numbers aren't in, but we dominated possession and linked passes well. We DOMINATED the physical matchup.

The boys set targets Wednesday and they hit a lot of them. They scored, they kept the first ten clean, they didn't surrender a PK or a red, they didn't allow a back side goal. No one wants draws, no one, from the coaches on down, is happy with a draw. We're going to keep stacking blocks, keep playing the game the right way, and keep working hard together until it clicks all the way. Today was ever so close to being that day.

Until then, remember that the beautiful game is supposed to be fun. Enjoy even the frustrating minutes. We play on turf, in a beautiful stadium, with a community that supports us, with our boys from Lake High School Boy’s Lax cheering us on, and with families that love and appreciate us at our backs. The wins will come. Until then, who's got it better than us?
