🏀 4th Grade Girls Basketball Players Needed! 🏀

Lady Bruins Basketball is currently putting together teams for the Future Lady Athletes Basketball League at Wes-Del for girls in grades 3–6.

We have teams forming at each grade level, but we are still looking for a few more 4th grade girls!

Currently, we have four 4th graders interested and need 2–3 more girls to complete the team. This is a developmental league and a great opportunity for girls to learn the game, build their skills, and have fun playing basketball!

📅 League Dates: October 17 – December 12
🏀 Two games on Saturdays
⛹️ 1–2 practices per week

No experience is necessary! If you have a 4th grade girl who might be interested in playing, please reach out for more information.

🏀❤️🖤 LADY BRUIN 3RD GRADE GIRLS TRAVEL BASKETBALL 🖤❤️🏀

We are excited to put together a 3rd Grade Girls Travel Basketball team that will compete in the Future Lady Athletes League (FLAL) this fall!

So, what is the Future Lady Athletes League? 👇

🏀 8 Saturdays of competition
📅 October 17 – December 12
🏀 2 games every Saturday
📍 Games will be played at Wes-Del, Yorktown, and Alexandria
💪 One practice each week in addition to Saturday game days

This will be a competitive team focused on skill development, teamwork, effort, sportsmanship, and having fun while competing! We are planning to carry a small roster so the girls can get meaningful playing time and experience throughout the season.

📍 BIS Gym

Players selected for the team will be notified by the following day, and our first practice will be Friday, August 28.

Today we had the opportunity to watch one of our Lady Bruins compete at the Muncie Gus Macker. This group of girls took on an all-boys division and competed their tails off, pushing every team they faced. They even knocked off a boys team to earn a spot in the Toilet Bowl Championship! Proud of the toughness, competitiveness, and confidence they showed. Great job, girls!

We had a great time in Louisville watching a couple of our Lady Bruins compete at Run 4 The Roses! It was one of the toughest and most physical tournaments in the country, and they embraced the challenge every time they stepped on the court. Proud of the way they represented Blackford with their effort, toughness, and competitiveness.
Great job, ladies! Go Bruins!

We wrapped up our summer season today at Anderson Prep with a round-robin scrimmage. The varsity finished the day 1-1, earning a win over Anderson Prep and falling to Anderson High School.
I couldn't be more proud of the growth, effort, and commitment our players showed throughout the summer. This group embraced every challenge, continued to improve, and laid a strong foundation for what we hope will be a special season.

The varsity finished the summer with a 9-2 record, while the JV posted a 4-2 mark. More importantly than the wins, our girls grew together, competed the right way, and took meaningful steps toward reaching their potential.

A huge thank you to Don Rogers Photography for making the trip today to capture our girls in action. We appreciate your dedication and continued support of our program. Your willingness to invest your time and talents means a great deal to our players, families, and coaches.

There is a lot to be excited about with Blackford Lady Bruins Basketball. The work doesn't stop here, we'll continue chasing our potential when we return in October.
