Meet Charlie 🐴

Charlie is a stunning black mule who joined the Mission Mules family in March 2025, donated by a generous North Carolina family who wanted to see him put to work serving others in need.

He didn’t have long to settle in before getting to work. The very same day he arrived, Charlie was loaded up and headed toward West Virginia to assist in response efforts following the Appalachian Floods. From the start, he showed a calm willingness to trust the team and step into unfamiliar situations without hesitation.

In the hollers impacted by severe flooding, Charlie proved steady, adaptable, and dependable. Whether navigating rough terrain or standing quietly while supplies were loaded and unloaded, he quickly became a valuable part of the mission. His gentle personality has also blended right into the herd, making him an easy favorite among the team.

We are grateful for Charlie’s heart for service and excited for the places he will go and the lives he will help impact in the years ahead.

What a productive volunteer workday! 💪

Today we proudly celebrate Flag Day and honor one of the most recognizable symbols of our great nation, the American flag.

As Americans, we are grateful for the freedoms it represents and proud to display our colors whenever and wherever we can. The Stars and Stripes serve as a reminder of the sacrifices made by those who came before us and the courage, service, and dedication that have shaped our nation.

Today, and every day, we are proud to be Americans and proud to fly our flag.

🤠❤️ What a blessing for Mission Mules to be selected as a donation recipient of the upcoming Mission Mules Rodeo Series, held in conjunction with Lone Hickory Arena in Yadkinville, NC!

This opportunity is especially meaningful to us because rodeo has always been, and continues to be, a huge part of our family’s life. The values of hard work, perseverance, faith, sportsmanship, and community that rodeo teaches have shaped so much of who we are.

Beginning this September, this exciting youth rodeo series has been thoughtfully planned by some of the best rodeo producers in the East. Their vision goes far beyond competition—they are committed to growing the sport of rodeo while investing in the next generation through quality instruction, safety, mentorship, and outstanding rodeo opportunities.

They have some incredible prizes and awards already planned, giving young rodeo athletes the chance to compete, learn, and be rewarded for their dedication and hard work.

Lone Hickory Arena is the perfect home for this series. As an indoor arena and event center dedicated to God, kids, and community, it embodies the values that make this partnership so special.

Meet Buzzkill! 🐴💙

Buzzkill joined our mule string in North Carolina in 2016, and he quickly became one of the most memorable personalities in the herd. Before coming to Mission Mules, Buzzkill was a trail riding mule. His previous owners loved taking him out on the trails, often enjoying a few adult beverages along the way. Buzzkill adored carrying the Mrs. on rides, but when her husband climbed aboard, Buzzkill made his feelings known by promptly depositing him into a briar patch! From that day forward, he earned the name "Buzzkill."

These days, Buzzkill has traded trail rides for a life of service as a pack mule. He happily carries supplies wherever they're needed, though he still seems to have a special fondness for the ladies. And if you're looking for a way to his heart, bring watermelon rinds...they're his favorite treat!

We love sharing Buzzkill's story because it's every bit as fun and unique as he is. Every mule in our string has a story, and each one plays an important role in helping us serve communities in need, respond to disasters, support ministry opportunities, and reach places vehicles can't go.
