Harlingen South Falls to SA Veterans Memorial

(Corpus Christi, Texas)-At Corpus Christi Carroll High School on Tuesday night, the Harlingen South Hawks just couldn’t keep up with 26-5A San Antonio Veterans Memorial (28-10) as the Hawks (30-8) were eliminated from the University Interscholastic League 5A Division II Region IV semifinals 63-35. An emotional Hawks head coach, Brian Molina hugged his player, Tony Cantu after their loss. “We had a great season and I’m proud of this team,” said Molina. The Harlingen South senior, Cantu led his team with 19 points. The Hawks went 18-0 in District 32-5A. San Antonio Veterans will now meet Alamo Heights in the quarterfinals. (HSSMImages/DeLeon)
