2023 has been a RIDE, complete with all sorts of hills, curves, and detours! Highlights included a new house, new marital status, new career, and hosting lots of friends and family. In 2024 I look forward to working on the art of balancing stability with spontaneous adventures and social interactions. Cheers to a great year and all that is to come!

Listening to speak about their around the world adventures got me feeling nostalgic about Bolivia. Lake Superior was cool, but I find myself wondering if/when I will ever go somewhere else like this. Somewhere that is SO different from what I am used to. Riding on the Salar de Uyuni was a truly unique experience that I am grateful for, despite all the salt that it left to corrode my bike. 🤪

Whenever I go a long time without going on a motorcycle trip, I always tell people that “my motorcycle misses the open road.” What I really mean is that I miss the open road. Nothing beats a long motorcycle trip to clear your mind. It’s a lot like pushing the restart button inside your head. This trip around the world’s largest lake was just perfect for that.

Just came here to share that I checked something off my adventure bucket list this summer. I rode around Lake Superior and brought 2 special people with me; my Dad and my Uncle Dan. We managed to squeeze this 8 day trip into our somehow aligning summer schedules. Lake Superior is a place that I have visited on the regular since I was little, but this trip provided an opportunity to see the lake from a different perspective. Taking it “slow” meant that we could stop in more small towns and at more scenic overlooks. We even fit in a boat tour of the Soo Locks and a sailboat trip in Bayfield. The weather was allllmost perfect (That last day or so always gets me with a downpour. 😑), so we were able to camp the majority of the time. Depending on how far from the lake the road was, we alternated between being blown around by rushes of cool, lake air to being hugged by tunnels of dense trees. Lake Superior has a special way of showing its love and it never disappoints. 💙

I couldn’t have asked for a kinder or more supportive General Manager during my summer in motorcycle sales. John always greeted me with a smile and made me feel like I was an important part of the team. Even after I left the shop, his kindness never ceased to amaze me. He went above and beyond to make sure my motorcycle was in perfect shape for my trip to Alaska last summer, from tracking down the perfect tires that were seemingly unavailable at the time, to grabbing a part off a trade-in bike for me so I would be set up for heated gear in time for my trip. John’s knowledge of all things motorcycle-related was unreal and his dedication to his job and the people he worked with was truly admirable. He will be missed by so many. Sending hugs to the entire DSP Motorsports family during this difficult time. ❤️‍🩹

It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of our General Manager and Friend John Lawson. John has been a valued member of our team for 21 years and will be missed greatly. Please keep John’s Wife Beth, Daughter Anna and family in your thoughts as they go through this difficult time.

Thank you to everyone who sent me birthday wishes this week! 💕

Like many people I know, I am going through a season of change right now. And although I know that things will calm down eventually, I can tell that change will continue to be a theme for me throughout the coming year.

One thing that motorcycling has taught me is that change, uncertainty, and taking risks can all lead to the best kind of growth, fulfillment, and happiness in life. So I’m putting on my best rain gear and bracing for all the challenges and rewards that this year will bring! 🌧️☀️🌈
