Don’t forget to register for our goat tying clinic by September 6th! As an added benefit you can skip the September 12th checkin line by checking in for both the clinic and the rodeo Friday night!!! We will also do a DRAWING for clinic participants to waive your Goat Tying Fees for September 12th If you are coming from out of town and want to camp with us Friday night just let us know when you send in your clinic reservation.

The clinic is for beginners, intermediate, and those that are advancing to tying off the horse. At cowpunchers we like to see our contestants advance to the next level and this will help contestants move from Goat Tail Untie to Goat Tying on the ground, Goat Tying on the Ground to Goat Tying off the Horse, as well as learning to dismount from their horse competitively. Our head clinician Caitlyn Heath brings a wealth of experience and knowledge.

Please RSVP by emailing [email protected] and Venmo your clinic fee by September 6th. Please indicate your name and DOB/age so we know what age group you are in. Don’t forget a current Coggins is required and waiver must be signed by a parent or legal guardian.

We will provide a meal to contestants and have concessions for sale. We will have a limited number of Goat Strings and Tshirts for sale as well. The clinic is open to all not just Cowpunchers Members. We hope to see you there!

We will have these great looking hats for sale at our first rodeo. They are $30 or 2 hats for $50! They will be available on a first come first serve basis.

We are so excited to be able to do this!!! Each rodeo we will have a new verse to recite. Each rodeo you recite that rodeo’s verse, you will get an entry into a drawing for a SADDLE!!!
If you recite all six verses, you will have 6 entries. If you only recite 4, you will only have 4 entries. We will not do makeup verses for a missed rodeo. Mandi Neville will be who you look for to recite your verse. Probably the best time will be during registration or after goat tie on the ground finishes, as Mandi helps all our little cowboys and cowgirls with dummy roping, goat tail untie, and goat tie on the ground. Our first verse is John 3:16 “For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have ever lasting life.”

Who wants to barrel race in a Pro Rodeo? Harris County Cattleman’s Pro Rodeo is going to let our girls compete in their rodeo. All cowpuncher’s girls 15 and under can run regardless of where you live…just no lead line. Just be sure to tell them you are a Cowpuncher when you call in. However, entry is not limited to just Cowpunchers. They will take the entries based on the callin order. Ten will run Friday night and 10 will run Saturday night during the rodeo right after the Pro ladies. If more than 20 register they will run Friday night during slack right after the rodeo. Please let us know if you have any questions.

Registration is OPEN for our first Rodeo on September 12th at Mike Tracy Arena. To register please email [email protected]. Please list contestants name, DOB, age, events, and if you want a membership. You must be a member to receive points and be eligible for awards. You will receive a confirmation email in return with a total, registration forms, and a waiver (but it may not be immediate as we all have jobs too).

Our events are listed below in the order that they will run. We will run Dummy Roping in conjunction with Mutton Busting. Mutton Busters will go straight to Dummy Roping after their ride. Dummy Roping, Goat Tail Untie, and Goat Tie on the Ground will be done outside of the arena under the pavilion. Poles will start in the big Arena after Mutton Busting. We will run in the following order: Adults, Huckleberries, Bootleggers, Buckeroos, Pork Chops, and Knee Highs. This should allow those doing Dummy Roping, Goat Tail Untie, and Goats on the ground to be ready for their pole run.

Please note that we will not do Chute Do***ng and Live Roping at the September 12th rodeo. Those contestants will have the opportunity to enter for two rodeos at the second rodeo at the Chestnut Oak Arena.

If you compete in goat tying or roping events in other associations, you must compete at that level or above at Cowpunchers. For example if you competed in sled roping at another event or association, you must compete in sled roping or live roping at Cowpunchers. You will no longer be eligible for dummy roping. We want to encourage our Cowpuncher contestants to continue to improve in ability.

Grand Entry will start at 9:00 AM. You must sign in between 7:00 am and 8:30 am. The later you wait to sign in the longer the line is. You will also pick up your pre ordered tshirts during this time.

If you are new to Cowpunchers, I know this seems like a lot!!! Don’t be afraid to ask questions. You can email them to [email protected]. There will also be plenty of Board Members on the ground available to answer questions. You will be able to recognize them by their shirts.
