Nature is His handiwork. Bathing it in and my heart gains peace to be here... with my son! It's been over 15 months since I've last looked upon his face and known with a mother's heart that he is well.
Mothers, love your children fiercely because one day they may live across the planet away from your embrace and Sunday dinners gathered at the table together. Invest today, bank those every day moments because they become a treasure trove of memories to revisit when distance separates.

Wherever you go in this world, no matter the circumstance, may you always seek to see the Beauty. Train your eyes to find it. Then store it as a treasure for your heart. There will be days in which you find a scarcity of it.
Today, my cup runs over with Beauty.
I hope yours does too!

Wednesdays evenings in June - mid July 6-8 pm... This class is respectful to allow you opportunity to enjoy your summer weekends AND provides windows for training, too! Perfect! There are only a couple of spots left!

Defender Series. This is our concealed carry series of trainings to include: Firearm Basics (Proper Fit & Gear), Violent Encounters and the Aftermath, Developing a Personal Protection Plan, Defensive Pistol with Less than Lethal Options + “Parking Lot Tactics”, the Legal Use of Force and a one-on-one training session with Fi****ms Trainer Cindy Frost to complete your live fire range qualifier. With successful completion of these course modules + demonstration of firearm safe handling and proficiency, students will receive a certificate of completion to submit with the county as a necessary step towards obtaining your Concealed Carry Permit.

If you already have your permit, this training will still be tremendously beneficial. Please call or text if you have further questions: (406) 961-5375

The range portion will be held at a private facility to ensure the best possible experience. It will be scheduled at a suitable time for each attendee, not to exceed three weeks after the last module unless a plan is made ahead of time. We are happy to work with you! If you need additional range time and training beyond the one hour, we are happy to provide it at the rate of $70 each extra hour needed.

Most beginner level students benefit from one hour of additional time. Most intermediate+ level students readily complete the course of fire within the one-hour session.

The Montana Enhanced Permit is available upon request! It requires a 98-round course of fire. This is a significant increase over the 21-round requirement for the Standard Permit. The content we have taught within this series has always been sufficient for the concept training requirements. Students may need additional time to complete the Enhanced requirement. Additional range time is available at $70 per hour.

Additional Notes from Your Instructor
Each week we will cover a different topic to move through the five sequential modules:
Week 1: Firearm Basics
Week 2: Violent Encounters & the Aftermath
Week 3: Developing a Personal & Home Protection Plan
Week 4: The Legal Use of Force
Week 5: Defensive Pistol with Scenarios
Week 5 is a culmination of your learning. You are here to learn, and we take that earnest desire to heart.
Concealed Carry & Home Defense Fundamentals with Simulations
This real-world self-defense scenario training on week five is designed to improve your mindset and skills, regardless of experience level or background. It is conducted in a safe and controlled environment. You can practice making split-second decisions, which will help you to understand the legal use of force. This is one of the most practical and effective ways to recognize when — or if — the use of deadly force is justified. Test your knowledge and learn from realistic situations that you could encounter in your daily life. Simulation training scenarios activate students’ mental and physical responses to mimic real self-defense scenarios, giving you a deeper understanding of how you’ll react under pressure.

Frequently Asked Questions:

Do I need to have a handgun already to participate? No. Week 1 will help you understand what to look for and why when making the important decision about what to purchase & carry.

What is the minimum age to attend this series? Mature 16 years of age and up are welcome to attend but we are willing to have a conversation about your specific situation. If a minor is to attend, a guardian must register to accompany and join the training.

What other Equipment or Gear is Needed? We offer loaners of eye and ear protection that is cleaned after each use. This allows you to experience the sport/training without an enormous investment at the onset. Trying before buying is always a great idea! With that experience under you, we encourage you to then invest in the necessary equipment to continue your training journey in the safest manner.

What about the range? The range is located outdoors and onsite. We are blessed with a private small range where we have privacy to address your specific training needs without an audience. The range portion of the training is 1:1…. Meaning you will have the undivided attention of a skilled coach to best assist you as you learn and progress. KNOW this: accessing our range requires a short walk downhill to reach (about 100 yards total). If you are mobility challenged, we can work together to come up with an alternative range location. The closest public range is Whittecar. Regardless of where we train, we tell students to wear footwear and clothing to match the weather and wear shoes that have good support and tread.

Should I Take this Series if I’m Brand New to Fi****ms? Yes, most definitely! You will learn so much and be the better for it as this is a comprehensive series. We love that you want to be educated about this important and highly consequential endeavor.

Should I Take this Series if I Already Have My Permit? It has been our experience that regardless of your prior training, you WILL learn something! Check our reviews to see what people are saying about their training experience here with us. We believe that learning is a lifelong endeavor!

Do you still have questions? Alright, give us a call or shoot us a text! (406) 961-5375

This "pretty purple flowering plant" becomes undesirable very quickly! They are prolific this time of year (and an issue here too).
Its seeds... think tiny but mighty ice auger drilling through your socks... or into your pet's paws! Ouch!! That's when they get under your skin and you discover how gnarly they are! Experience this for yourself and you might invent new curse words, like I did! 😡

Here's what research says:
Erodium cicutarium (commonly known as redstem filaree, common stork's-bill, or pinw**d) is widely considered an aggressive, invasive w**d in North America, particularly in the southwestern United States and arid grasslands.

Why It's Considered Invasive

Rapid Spread: It is a residual colonizer that emerges early in the season, out-competing native grasses and forbs for resources before they have a chance to get established.

Habitat Disruption: Its low-growing, spreading habit creates a dense mat that prevents the germination and survival of desirable native vegetation.

Persistence: It produces seeds that can remain viable in the soil for long periods, making total eradication difficult.

Erodium = Eradicate

From last night's impressive gathering 😍 The interactions between these two Canada Geese families amongst themselves was so endearing.
The parents called to gather their babes when a new formation was needed. Moving off water to shore, the adults would stretch and paddle hard to land ground ahead of the goslings. They would then take turns holding watch while the others fed and rested. Much can be learned from watching Creation.
What are you seeing as Spring is sprung in your neck of the woods?

“Should I Shoot?”

That is a loaded question — and the consequences are profoundly serious.

Knowing when you are legally authorized to use force is just as foundational as knowing how to shoot.

We believe safer communities are built when responsible citizens are both knowledgeable and capable.

If you are willing to defend yourself or your loved ones, you owe it to yourself — and to them — to understand the legal, moral, and practical realities surrounding the use of force.

Join us for this important discussion.
