Fighting Concepts of Hagerstown We are a 2100 sq ft. facility with a boxing ring, heavy bags, focus ball , wrestling mat and much more. We offer Kickboxing, Boxing and Matrial Arts.

At Fighting Concepts Academy we teach a system called American Martial Arts. This is not a style but an approach. American Martial as a whole has absorbed and adapted many techniques from Korean, Japanese and Chinese Martial Arts and Western Style Boxing. American Martial Arts is based on individuality, innovation and the use of whatever works despite its style or national origin. The difference i

n American Martial Arts from traditional Martial Arts is the stress of kata (a series of techniques directed against imaginary opponents). At Tri-State Martial Arts we strive on proper form and technique by using combinations other than katas. To progress to each belt level the student must perform a series of combinations plus self-defense techniques from all angles of attack. The combinations are designed to flow together to create an arsenal of punching and kicking techniques that will provide coherence and focus to what would otherwise be a random assortment of habitual response necessary for one personal defense. Although we teach American Martial Arts, we support the strong traditions of eastern Asia when it comes to respect and etiquette in the school. Our Trainers: Jeff Haynes & Rick Blandford
