Steven Cadmus was a son, brother, fiancé and a father. Army from 99-02 and participated in Operation Iraqi Freedom. He cared about his family and his community. I did not have the pleasure of knowing this man personally, but I did grow up knowing of his Mother and Father, Sharon and Peter Cadmus. Steven Cadmus took his own life on July 22, 2016. This struck home instantly when I found out a couple
days after his death. It's a terribly hard thing to go through so I can only imagine how the family feels. That being said, I want to start a GoFundMe for his fiancé and three daughters. My goal is to raise $5,000 dollars for the family. On August 20th, 2016, a ruck will be held in his name, to honor his life and pay it forward. We will be starting in Alton IL, and ending in Grafton IL. It will start at 6:30am sharp and will last till around 3-4pm. If you are close and interested in taking part, we'd love to have you, the more the merrier!!!
*****Previous Event*****March 24th, 2015 I will be turning 21, but I figured I wanted to do it a little differently....
From 12am-12am I will be on the road, rucking. Minus 2 hours that will be spending at my house in NJ with friends and family. My goal is to be on the road for a total of 22 hours with 22lbs in my backpack. My vision for this event is to raise awareness of Veteran su***de. Right now roughly 22 men and women that has served our country is committing su***de and I want to help change that. While I'm trying to raise awareness, I am also holding a fundraiser for Paws and Stripes so that our Vets that struggle with PTSD can get a service dog free of charge. I have partnered with a good friend, the owner of Section 1776 and he will be running a t-shirt for this event. And all the proceeds will be going to Paws and Stripes. More information to come as to how to donate and/or participate.
