🏁 Dark Horse QMR Weekend Recap 🏁

What a weekend of racing! We saw speed, heartbreak, redemption, and plenty of hard work pay off on the track.

🌙 Friday Night Lights – Club Race #2
Logan Centers – Jr Honda

Heat: P1 ➡️ P1
Feature: P1 ➡️ P2

Logan continues to improve every time he hits the track. The car was absolutely flying in the heat race, taking the win from the pole. We made a few adjustments before the feature, but unfortunately went the wrong direction and tightened the car up more than we wanted. Despite the challenge, Logan kept digging and brought home a strong 2nd-place finish. The progress he's making week after week is exciting to watch.

Knightly McKinnon – Sr Honda

Heat: P2 ➡️ P1
Feature: P1 ➡️ P1

The hard work is paying off. Knightly and his dad have been putting in countless hours behind the scenes, and it showed under the lights. The car was a rocket all night long, sweeping both the heat and feature races for a perfect evening.

🏁 Indiana Asphalt Series – Race #3
Logan Centers – Jr Honda

Heat: P2 ➡️ P4
Feature: P4 ➡️ P4

A solid day for Logan as he continues to gain experience and confidence against a tough field. Every lap is another step forward.

Knightly McKinnon

Sr Honda
Heat: P5 ➡️ P1
Feature: P1 ➡️ P1

What a drive. Starting fifth and charging to the front for a heat race win, then backing it up with another feature victory. Knightly was on another level all day.

Sr Animal
Heat: P5 ➡️ P3
Feature: P5 ➡️ P4

A strong effort in a highly competitive class, picking up positions and battling hard throughout the day.

Tristan Centers – Unrestricted Animal

Heat: P2 ➡️ P2
Feature: P2 ➡️ DNF

Sometimes racing can be cruel.

We had the car looking much better for the heat race, but were still fighting a left rear bounce that made handling difficult. After making shock changes before the feature, things finally seemed to be moving in the right direction.

Tristan took the lead on Lap 2 and looked every bit the car to beat, pacing the field all the way to Lap 32. Then disaster struck. An untimely caution exposed a busted engine hub and lost keyway, ending our day while leading the race.

The result was heartbreaking, especially for the driver, but it was no fault of his own. We know what we're capable of, and redemption was coming.

🏁 Indiana Asphalt Series – Race #4
Logan Centers – Jr Honda

Heat: P3 ➡️ P5
Feature: P5 ➡️ P4

With the car still showing signs of being too tight, we decided to try a ratchet hub for the first time. Logan wasn't exactly a fan, but he gave it everything he had and adapted as best he could. We found a little more speed throughout the day with additional changes, but not quite enough to reach the podium. The learning experience will pay dividends moving forward.

Knightly McKinnon

Sr Honda
Heat: P4 ➡️ P4
Feature: P4 ➡️ P2

Sr Animal
Heat: P2 ➡️ P4
Feature: P4 ➡️ P3

The weather, track conditions, and competition made for a challenging day. Tires went flat, bolts came loose, and conditions changed constantly. Through it all, Knightly stayed focused and delivered. Four podium finishes over the weekend is something to be proud of.

Tristan Centers – Unrestricted Animal

Heat: P1 ➡️ P2
Feature: P2 ➡️ P1

Redemption.

The car was extremely tight in the heat race and struggled to rotate through the corners, but Tristan hung on for a solid 2nd-place finish. We made some final adjustments and rolled into the feature ready to fight.

A chain issue during the hot chute sidelined the original pole sitter, moving us to the front row. When the green flag dropped, Tristan never looked back.

The car was an absolute rocket. The driver was smooth, patient, and precise from start to finish, leading every lap on the way to victory lane. After the heartbreak of Race #3, watching him dominate and close out the weekend with a win was something special.

A huge thank you to all of our families, crew members, supporters, and sponsors who help make weekends like this possible. Racing gives you highs and lows, but that's what makes the victories so rewarding.

What a weekend for Dark Horse QMR at Kokomo for Friday Night Lights and Asphalt Series Race #1 & #2! The team brought speed, determination, and some unforgettable racing action all weekend long.

🏁 Friday Night Lights
🔥 Knightly McKinnon in Sr Honda battled hard all race long and drove his way to an impressive 2nd place finish!

🏁 Asphalt Series Race #1
🔥 Logan Centers in Jr Honda faced the challenge of learning a brand-new track and battled through some confidence issues early on. Once he found his groove, he drove his way to a solid 5th place finish in the feature.

🔥 Knightly McKinnon in Sr Honda absolutely put on a show! After charging to the front, he capitalized while 2nd, 3rd, and 4th battled behind him. He nearly lapped the entire field and wowed the crowd with an incredible 3-for-1 pass in turns 3 & 4 on his way to the win!

🔥 Tristan Centers in the UNR Animal fought setup issues all day long but kept digging deep and drove his way to a strong 2nd place finish.

🏁 Asphalt Series Race #2
🔥 Logan Centers continued to build confidence on a flat track, finding his stride and nearly landing on the podium before bringing home an impressive 4th place finish.

🔥 Knightly McKinnon in Sr Honda came out swinging and never looked back. He put the pedal to the metal from the drop of the green and drove straight to another 1st place finish, making it two wins in two days! Huge shoutout to Dad for building an absolute rocket ship! 🚀

🔥 Tristan Centers once again battled shock issues in the UNR Animal but stayed smooth and consistent to bring home another strong 2nd place finish.

Proud of every driver this weekend for fighting through challenges, adapting, and leaving it all on the track. Thank you to all of our family, sponsors, and supporters who make this possible. On to the next one! 🏁🐎

Different racing, same moms. Without you this train would derail. Happy mothers day to ALL racing moms

Different racing, same moms. Without you this train would derail.

Happy mothers day to ALL racing moms

To the moto moms…
We see you.

The ones up before the sun making breakfast in a camper sink.
The ones packing gear bags, finding missing gloves, braiding helmet hair, and somehow remembering every gate drop time without ever sitting down.

We see the muddy boots by the door.
The endless laundry.
The sacrifices nobody posts about.
The anxiety while your kid disappears over a jump way too big for your comfort.
The smiles you fake while your heart is pounding in your chest every lap.

You’re the reason these kids make it to the line.
Not the bikes.
Not the sponsors.
Not the trophies.

You.

Because behind every little ripper chasing a dream…
is a mom running on caffeine, stress, love, and pure determination.

And to the moms outside of motocross too — the ones holding families together when nobody notices, carrying weight nobody talks about, loving harder than anyone will ever understand…
today is for you too.

Happy Mother’s Day to every mama out there holding it all together behind the scenes.
The real MVPs of this life. ❤️🏁.

What an opening weekend at Mini Indy QMC!

Club Race 1

Logans last Blue Rookie race, Won the heat and took the feature. Jr Honda here we come!

Knightly Started off strong in the UltimateQM Xwing Sr Honda, taking 2nd in the heat. Lost a little steam going into the feature but still pulled of a 3rd place podium finish!
The FPE Racing powered Sr animal had carb issues we couldnt seem to get fixed leaving us in a 4th place finish. Good thing we have the engine builder on site, they had us up and running for Day 2.

Club Race 2

Logans first race in Jr Honda, walked away with a heat and feature win!

Knightly came back for revenge today, hit the track for Sr honda heat and never looked back. Pulled off a heat and a feature win with some crazy driving skills.
The Animal was super fast today, drove it so hard in the feature trying to take the W the RR tire had nothing left in the tank to catch G2 Racing. Congrats on the win, well deserved.

🚨NASCAR YOUTH SERIES🚨

We've had some questions recently about the RZ-48Y's certification. Here's the information that we have from NASCAR:

The RZ-48Y meets SFI 24.1 and CMR 2016 standards. The SFI 24.1 label is on the back inside of the helmet, while the CMR 2016 label is on the back outside of the helmet. Even with the CMR 2016 designation, this helmet is legal for the NASCAR Youth Series because it also has the SFI 24.1 designation.

Here is the rule from NASCAR:

A - Helmets - All participating drivers must wear a well fitted safety helmet designed specifically for auto racing (SA designation) the meets or exceeds the SA2020 or SA2025, FIA8859-2015 or FIA 8859-2024, FIA 8860 valid 10 years from Date of Manufacture, Snell Foundation or SFI 24.1 labeled as such. Helmets will be in good condition (no exterior cracks, evidence of impact or deteriorating interior lining). Helmets will be subject to inspection at each event by the Technical, Safety and/or medical representative. Hair must not be visible under the helmet or outside the drive suit/jacket. First offense, the driver will receive a warning. The second offense will result in a race DQ.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us. We'll be happy to help. 🏁
