🏁 **MIDWEST THUNDER RECAP β€” DARK HORSE QMR** 🏁

What. A. Weekend.

Between weather delays, late-night racing, new classes, Blue Rookie debuts, hard lessons, bent wheels, flat tires, thrown chains, transfers, and podium finishes β€” our Dark Horse boys experienced a little bit of **everything** at Midwest Thunder.

But through all of it, they kept digging. πŸ’ͺ🏁

# # πŸŒ™ DAY 1 β€” A LONG NIGHT UNDER THE LIGHTS

The weather made for one heck of a long night, but these boys stayed focused and went to work.

🏎️ **Knightly McKinnon β€” Sr. Honda**
πŸ”₯ Heat: P4 ➑️ P2
πŸ† A Main: P5 ➑️ P2

Knightly's heat race locked him straight into P5 of the A Main, and when it was time to go racing, he did what we've come to expect β€”
Be a Contender!

Charging from 5th to 2nd, Knightly brought home another podium finish and once again showed why he's a frontrunner every time he hits the track. πŸ₯ˆπŸ”₯

---

🏎️ Logan Centers β€” Jr. Honda
Heat: P4 ➑️ P4
B Main: P5 ➑️ DQ

Logan's heat put him starting P5 in the B Main β€” his best starting position yet in a regional race!

Unfortunately, racing has a way of teaching lessons the hard way. After getting spun, Logan went all four tires below the yellow line and continued instead of stopping, resulting in a DQ.

It's a tough way to end a promising night, but these are the moments young drivers learn from.

Lesson learned. Head up. We'll come back better. πŸ’ͺ

---

🏎️ Jet Cox β€” Jr. Honda
Heat: P4 ➑️ P6
C Main: P4 ➑️ P4 β€” TRANSFER!
B Main: P10 ➑️ P6

Jet is beginning to make his competitive debut in Jr. Honda, and he's learning more every time he straps into the car.

He held his ground in the C Main to earn the transfer, then started 10th in the B Main and drove all the way to 6th!

Picking up four positions in 20 laps at a regional event is no easy task. Jet made some impressive passes and showed some serious fight. It wasn't quite enough for another transfer, but this kid is up and coming. πŸ‘€πŸ”₯

# # # 🏎️ Jet Cox β€” Jr. 160

Heat: P2 ➑️ P4
A Main: P8 ➑️ P10
New car. New class. New challenge.

Jet gave it everything he had in the heat and put the car straight into the A Main!

By the time the feature rolled around, we were racing deep into the night. Drivers were tired, the racing got rough, and the A Main turned into a wreck fest.

The car might have limped across the finish line, but Jet never quit on it. He kept wheeling that thing until the checkered flag. 🏁

---

πŸ”΅ **Edgar Delgado β€” BLUE ROOKIE DEBUT!**
Heat: P5 ➑️ P4
πŸ† A Main: P4 ➑️ P3

First race in Blue Rookie and Edgar came ready to learn!

The increased speed and new racing line were on his to-do list, and he used the heat race to figure them out.

Then he took everything he learned and put it to work in the A Main, driving his way onto the podium with a P3 finish in his Blue Rookie debut! πŸ₯‰πŸ”₯

---

πŸ”΅ Jag Cox β€” BLUE ROOKIE DEBUT!
Heat: P1 ➑️ P2
πŸ† A Main: P2 ➑️ P2

Jag made his Blue Rookie debut and came out swinging.

He used every inch of racetrack he could find trying to take P1 in the heat, but it just wasn't in the cards.

In the A Main, the same car was out front and Jag simply didn't have enough power to make the pass β€” but he never stopped trying.

Blue Rookie debut ➑️ P2 podium! πŸ₯ˆ

Not a bad way to introduce yourself to the class!

# # β˜€οΈ DAY 2 β€” TIME TO GO BACK TO WORK

🏎️ Tristan Centers β€” Unrestricted Animal**
Heat: P7 ➑️ P5
C Main: P1 ➑️ P2
B Main: P8 ➑️ P5 β€” A Main Alternate

This kid had to earn every single position on Day 2.

The heat was a battle from the beginning, and with four laps remaining, the right rear tire went down. Somehow, Tristan kept it together and brought it home P5.

Then came the C Main.

From the drop of the green, Tristan was in the zone. Same marks. Same line. Lap after lap. It was like watching art.

Then β€” somehow β€” the same spot on the wall got us again. Bent rim. Another right rear tire down and he STILL held on for P2 and the transfer!

That sent him to the B Main starting P8.

With 11 laps remaining, a driver error popped the chain and sent him to the pits. The crew got it fixed, sent him back out, and Tristan went to work.

For the final 11 laps, he was flowing around that track like water, fighting his way from P10 to P5 and finishing as the X for the A Main.

We didn't get the opportunity to join the A Main, but Tristan left absolutely nothing on the table.

Sometimes the results sheet doesn't tell the whole story. That drive was something to be proud of. πŸ’ͺπŸ”₯

---

🏎️ Jet Cox β€” Jr. Animal
Heat: DNS
A Main: P10 ➑️ DQ

Unfortunately, the long night before caught up with us and the car wasn't ready in time for the heat β€” no fault of the driver.

Jet got his opportunity in the A Main and continued learning the Animal, its speed, and the different line it requires.

The result wasn't what we wanted, but that's racing.

Learn. Adjust. Improve. Return better. 🏁

---

πŸ”΅ **Edgar Delgado β€” Blue Rookie**
Heat: P6 ➑️ P4
A Main: P4 ➑️ P4

Another solid day for Edgar as he continues getting comfortable with the speed and competition of Blue Rookie. Moving forward in the heat and holding P4 in the feature β€” progress every time the wheels hit the track.

---

πŸ”΅ Jag Cox β€” Blue Rookie
Heat: P4 ➑️ P6
A Main: P6 ➑️ P6

Not every race weekend goes exactly how you want it to, but every lap is another opportunity to learn. Jag kept digging, brought the car home, and added another race worth of experience to his Blue Rookie journey.

🏁 THAT'S A WRAP ON MIDWEST THUNDER! 🏁

This weekend had just about everything racing could throw at us.

πŸ† Podium finishes
πŸ”₯ Hard-earned transfers
πŸ”΅ Two Blue Rookie debuts
πŸ›ž Flat tires and bent wheels
⛓️ Thrown chains
🌧️ Weather delays
πŸŒ™ Racing deep into the night
πŸ“š And plenty of lessons learned

But most importantly, our drivers never quit.

At Dark Horse QMR, winning is always the goal β€” but FUN, PROGRESS, and developing these young racers will always come first.

Some weekends you bring home trophies.
Some weekends you bring home lessons.
The best weekends bring home both.

Proud of every one of these boys.

We'll fix the cars, learn from the mistakes, celebrate the successes, and get ready to do it all over again.

Dark Horse QMR β€” we'll see you at the next one. 🏁🐎πŸ”₯

Thank you to everyone who makes this possible for these kids.
