A very early 1969 Perazzi MX8, imported by Ithaca Gun Company and featuring 32” barrels, a stepped ventilated rib, detachable trigger group, and matching serial number 34029 throughout.

This is a beautiful early example of Perazzi’s legendary competition shotgun, complete with period Ithaca markings and classic engraving.

🚨 CUSTOMER UPDATE: NJ NICS FEE INCREASE

Unfortunately, another fee increase is here.

The New Jersey State Police has increased the NICS Portal Administration Fee from $2 to $6 per transaction. As a result, the total NICS fees collected at the time of transfer are now:

🔴 Handgun Transaction — $20
🔵 Rifle/Long Gun Transaction — $19

This is a State of New Jersey fee and is outside of our control. According to NJSP, the increase will help support upcoming improvements to the NICS system and the development of a new fi****ms dealer portal.

As always, we’ll keep our customers informed whenever changes from the State affect the buying or transfer process.

🚨 UPDATE: THE THIRD CIRCUIT HAS GRANTED NEW JERSEY’S MOTION TO STAY

The Third Circuit has granted New Jersey’s Motion to Stay the mandate in ANJRPC v. Platkin while the State seeks review by the U.S. Supreme Court.

What does this mean?

➡️ The Third Circuit’s ruling is now on hold.
➡️ There are no changes to New Jersey’s current firearm laws at this time.
➡️ Standard-capacity magazines and previously prohibited semiautomatic rifles cannot be transferred while the stay is in effect.

While this isn’t the outcome many of us were hoping for, it’s important to remember that this is not a final decision on the merits of the case. The stay simply preserves the current status quo while the legal process continues.

At Middlebrook Fi****ms, we’ve said from the beginning that we’d rather be right than rushed. We’ll continue to follow the law, protect our customers, and provide updates based on the actual court filings—not rumors or speculation.

🚨UPDATE: NEW JERSEY HAS OFFICIALLY FILED ITS MOTION TO STAY

As expected, the New Jersey Attorney General has now formally asked the Third Circuit to stay (pause) the mandate while the State seeks review from the U.S. Supreme Court.

A few key takeaways after reviewing the filing:

• This is not a request to overturn the Third Circuit’s decision—it is a request to pause its implementation while further appeals are pursued.
• The State argues that the Supreme Court’s upcoming Viramontes case and the current circuit split justify keeping the existing laws in place during the appeal.
• The motion also argues that allowing immediate sales of previously prohibited fi****ms and magazines could create enforcement issues if the Supreme Court later reverses the Third Circuit.

The plaintiffs will now have an opportunity to respond, and the Third Circuit will decide whether to grant or deny the State’s request.

🚨 NJSP UPDATE – ANJRPC v. Platkin

We’ve now received official communication from the New Jersey State Police Fi****ms Dealer Investigation Unit regarding the Third Circuit’s decision.

According to NJSP, the Third Circuit’s decision is scheduled to become effective on July 31, 2026, and they are working with the Office of the Attorney General to develop guidance for New Jersey residents and FFLs.

Like many of you, we’re excited by this historic ruling. At the same time, we believe it’s important to be informed and prudent. The State wouldn’t hesitate to enforce the law if it remained in effect, so we’re going to follow the guidance provided by the agencies that regulate New Jersey FFLs.

For now, Middlebrook Fi****ms will continue following all current New Jersey and federal laws while we await additional guidance.

We’ll continue monitoring this case closely and will keep everyone updated as new information becomes available.

Today, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit issued a significant decision holding that New Jersey’s bans on many semiautomatic rifles and magazines over 10 rounds violate the Second Amendment.
