โš™๏ธ 1 X-Routes & Out of Order CPs
๐Ÿ“Š 187 / 250 pts (75%) โ€” 4th place โ€ข 18 CPs hit

Day 7 of the started earlier than usual, with the first car off the line before sunrise. We were handed a long list of checkpoints, and luckily had a long transit to Glamis where were able to plot on the move.

After reaching our first checkpoint of the day, we aired down and teamed up with The Wild Mavens. Our teams had similar strategies that allowed us to make quick decisions and keep a strong pace. We found nearly every blue checkpoint and even pushed for a few black ones.

By late afternoon, fuel was running low, but we decided to go for one last X checkpoint โ€” and nailed it, rolling into the fuel line nearly on empty. It was an incredible day in the sand. We felt more comfortable and confident navigating the constantly shifting terrain, and it showed. The Rebelle U in the dunes we attended in September truly paid off and helped us secure 4th place for the day.

With one day left, we went to bed under the Glamis stars strategizing and prepping for our last push in the dunes and then back to Needles for the Finish Line.

After several wet, muddy days in Ridgecrest, we woke up cold at Base Camp 2 and prepared for the long haul toward Base Camp 3 on the banks of the Colorado River in Needles. Day 6 of the kicked off with a surprise 1:80,000 supplemental map to plot most of the dayโ€™s checkpoints. Cara was beyond thrilled as sheโ€™s been training for this moment since our first year, when we faced a similar map challenge for the first time.

We navigated from Spangler Hills through Cuddeback Dry Lake Bed and across the wide-open stretches of the Mojave. The terrain constantly shifted from rocky and slow to smooth and fast, and we both found our rhythm, having a blast exploring new landscapes.

By the time we rolled into Needles, the sun greeted us at the river. The warmer weather and beautiful setting lifted our spirits, especially after finding out weโ€™d scored 93% of the dayโ€™s points. That evening, we received our final set of maps and learned where we were headed next: the dunes of Glamis. We had been anticipating this moment since the start, and as soon as it was announced, the excitement and nerves kicked in. It was time to shift our focus to sand and the final stretch of the rally. ๐ŸŒ…๐Ÿงญ๐Ÿš™

๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ Distance: 242 km โ€ข Difficulty: ~4.5 (felt like a 7/8 with torrential rain)ย
๐ŸŽฏ Completed a Jimmy Lewis roadbook with 100% accuracyย
โฑ๏ธ Results: 231 / 302 pts โ†’ 76% โ€ข CP summary: 27 hit

Day 5 of the started at Base Camp 2 near Ridgecrest before we set off under dark clouds and a storm already brewing. A double rainbow greeted us at the start line, one of the few silver linings before the skies opened. As we headed toward Dove Springs, the rain started to come down strong. Mud, rock, steep climbs and a difficult road book designed by Jimmy Lewis tested every ounce of our focus in the morning.

Then, the challenge continued in the Spangler OHV area: a one-time Enduro followed by chasing checkpoints without many landmarks visible in the clouds. Definitely a day of dead-reckoning, rough terrain, and weather that wanted to dictate our pace, but we kept our heads, kept moving, and did our best.ย

As time slipped away, we had to make the tough call to give up a few final blue CPs and head back to camp before timing out. It was one of the hardest days of the rally so far, but one that reminded us exactly why we train this hard:ย  to stay composed and keep pushing when conditions donโ€™t go our way. We rolled back into camp, tents soaked (luckily sleeping bags dry!), Rex more muddy than ever, but spirits intact and ready for whatโ€™s ahead.

๐Ÿ“ Day 4 | The Valleys
๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ Distance: 378 km โ€ข Difficulty: 3-4
๐Ÿ” Left Base Camp 1 (Nevada) and made the transit to Base Camp 2 (California)
๐ŸŽฏ We chose to go after every X-Route, ran 2 Enduros (1 on-route, 1 one-time)

Day 4 truly tested both driver and navigator. From BC1, we climbed into the mountains near Dire, NV, above Death Valley, taking an X Route that wound through steep, rocky trails and rewarded us with some of the most breathtaking views of the rally. The sight of Mt. Whitney in the distance looked straight out of a movie.

From there, we dropped into California for a classic on-time Enduro along the Aqueduct, a route lined with narrow shelf roads and hard-to-spot turns. Unfortunately, a few critical errors cost us nearly half the points for that REC.

We wrapped the day navigating into Ridgecrest with a precision on-route Enduro before rolling into Base Camp 2 for the night. Between the Enduro hit and missing points on two black CPs, our daily ranking took a big dip, but we ended the day with valuable lessons and a renewed determination to improve.

Results: 198 / 224 pts โ†’ 88% โ€ข CP summary: 19 hit

๐ŸŽ™๏ธ Live from the Day 2 Start Line! (October 10, 2025)

Nothing like kicking off the first marathon leg of the with an early-morning interview with Katy and the Rebelle live team. The sun was barely up yet, but the energy at the line was electric.

Day 2 is where the real adventure began, long miles, big decisions, and that mix of nerves and excitement that only the Rebelle can deliver. Team Raptor Rex was fueled up, focused, and ready to chase down every checkpoint we could ๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿฆ–

๐Ÿ“ Day 2 | Marathon Leg to Belmont, NV
๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ Distance: 322 km โ€ข Difficulty: 3 (first Marathon stage)
๐Ÿ”„ Departed Base Camp 1 for our first self-camp night under Nevada stars.

We left BC1 before dawn knowing this day would be the hardest yet. We made the call first thing in the morning that we would be taking the X route today, the shorter, steeper Ophir Pass (10,117สน) and it paid off.

By midday, we were cruising through historic mining terrain, wild sagebrush flats, and rugged ridgelines that reminded us why this rally is both beautiful and brutal. We were riding high after reaching our last blue checkpoint when our tire clipped a low boulder, broke off the tip, and tore the sidewall.

The mood dropped fast, but thanks to our tough it wasnโ€™t a worse outcome. With quick teamwork and a huge thank you to our friends on we swapped the tire and made it to Belmontโ€™s final green flag with 7 minutes to spare. A clear reminder to ride the middle and not celebrate too soon.

Results: 201 / 216 pts โ†’ 93% โ†’ 3rd place overall for the day, and we hit 21 CPs.
