Despite my best efforts and knowing in my heart (and my heartrate :) I gave it my all, today I placed 4th in my age group and 13th female overall. I am so thankful for the support out on the race for me and the rest of the racers! Thank you to my family and friends for being there for me along the way!! Thank you most of all to Coach Matt for this amazing opportunity to push myself further than I thought I could!

Deep breath...the race is finally here! These months have truly flown by! My packet is picked up, my bike is racked, and now tonite I'm just trying to stay relaxed, positive, and confident and trust in myself that I will do the very best I can. Thank you for all the good wishes thru out this process...they've made all the difference! Next stop, swim start at 6:42am...!

Hell week is basically over! Which actually seemed to last more like a month! (and the crazy part is that I loved all of it...kind of:) I think the last of sustained intensity sessions ended this morning wth me having an out of body experience on the treadmill while Matt yelling at me that the finish line was just ahead and to keep going! Next step tapered workouts, rest, recovery, books, movies, lunch anyone?

Rode the Pleasant Prairie tri course today. Glad to see that today's training ride was the same as my all out race pace from last year!...and on tired race legs from the past weekend nonetheless! Hoping to see at least a 5+ minute improvement on race day!! Gotta make the most of the next few weeks!!

Today's swim workout ranks up there as one of the hardest overall workouts ever! It was one those that when I was only about 25% done, I wasn't sure how I would ever complete the whole thing. To be honest, it's a bit of a blur...but I am now sitting on my couch at home...job done!

Just finished first lake swim of the year! The water was cool but felt great! Dealt with a little choppiness, but overall was awesome!!

Reach Out and Run 5k tomorrow! Lots of TFP'ers planning on "taking -over"...will be cool to see the sea of red! Let you know how it goes...

First race of the year is in the history books! My time at the Cary 1/2 Marathon was 1:39:29, a 7:35 pace, and a PR of more than 7 minutes. It was so great to see everybody out there, and it seems like everyone I talked to had a good time, and a great race!

Thanks for all the confidence you all expressed to me. Sadly, I did not break into the "19's" THIS time, actually I broke into the 20's for the first time! I finished at 20:49, this was 36 seconds faster than the beginning of the month, and just about 2 minutes faster than my best 5k race. But 19:-- ....I WILL see you soon.
