ALLIE HAVENS
Hidden Valley High School Equestrian Team

Hi, my name is Allie Havens. Looking back on my journey since joining the Hidden Valley Equestrian Team as an 8th grader, I’m amazed by how much I’ve grown. This program became my second home, teaching me the discipline, patience and other life skills I’ll carry with me throughout my life. I plan to do some barrel racing off and on after high school.

I want to express my deepest gratitude to my parents. I truly couldn’t have done this without you. Thank you for your endless support; every early morning and late night, and for always being my biggest cheerleaders. To my coaches, and especially Jenny Hull; thank you for your guidance and for always believing in me.

A very special thank you goes to my amazing mare, Red. You have been the most incredible partner, teaching me both the hard and easy lessons with the heart of a champion. Thank you for your patience and for being the soul of my journey. I also want to thank Grey Goose for the three years I had known you and for being such a great partner, taking me to State for team sorting and drill my Junior year.

Finally, to my friends: thank you for being the best support system.
I am so proud to have represented Hidden Valley.

MADI ABRAMS
Hidden Valley High School Equestrian Team

Hi, my name is Madi and this is my third and final year riding for Hidden Valley High School. I’ve done just about everything from gaming and drill to performance events! I have two mares: Evie, a 13-year-old Hanoverian, and Misty, my little paint mare who always keeps things interesting. I've been riding for over 10 years and jumping most of my life. During my first two years on the team, I qualified for State and Regionals in jumping and some gaming events, and took first place my Freshman year.
After graduation, I plan to ride in college and continue training and working with horses! I'd like to thank my teammates, trainers and coaches, especially coach Jenny, for putting up with me all these years and supporting me every step of the way. And of course, I’d like to thank my parents for supporting me through all the early mornings, long days and late nights!

EMMA KEPHART
Hidden Valley High School Equestrian Team

Four years, countless rides, and one unforgettable journey—that’s what equestrian means to me. Hi, my name is Emma, and I’ve been doing OHSET for four years. While the years have flown by so quickly, I’m grateful for every practice and every meet. During my OHSET journey, I’ve learned so much—from being thrown into events as a backup to learning new patterns and how to perform them.

It’s been an incredible four years and an amazing high school journey. I love being a part of Hidden Valley’s team. Through this team, I’ve learned new skills and made so many new friends and lifelong connections. OHSET isn’t just about the team and the horses; it’s also about the friends and people you meet along the way.

I want to thank my mom for always supporting me through my meets and practices and for being my number one supporter, and my dad for always making me laugh during hard and frustrating times. Thank you to Jenny and Makayla for always helping us strive to be better riders and pushing us to achieve our goals. And a final thank you to Aalyiah for always getting me through practices, cheering me on at meets, and being my personal cheerleader—I couldn’t have done it without you.

It will be hard to leave my team, but I’m grateful to leave with such great memories and amazing friends. Thank you, Hidden Valley, for the best four years.

AALIYAH MICHAEL
Hidden Valley High School Equestrian Team

Hi, my name is Aaliyah, I have been in OHSET for 4 years. These four years have been some of the best I’ve ever had. I’ve made once in a lifetime relationships, learned so much, and have grown not only in the sport but within myself. I’m so grateful for every opportunity that I’ve gotten from being a part of a team but also being in OHSET. Through the years my team has changed countless times, and athletes have come and gone. But we’ve always been a family and certainly one I didn’t realize I needed. I want to say thank you to my teammates for teaching me things I wouldn’t have learned from anywhere else, for accepting me, and for being such a support system that has truly made my OHSET career memorable. I’m so grateful for all of my coaches, for every bit of knowledge that they have given me to help me grow in a sport that I’m so passionate about. I definitely wouldn’t be the athlete I am today without them. But an even bigger thank you to my family who are the ones that have truly made this sport possible for me and have been there for every part of it, the good and the bad. I definitely wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for my best friend and four legged teammate. Just as important as the people in my life are, my horse is the one who has truly made every single bit of this possible and no other horse will compare. I couldn’t be more blessed to have such an amazing partner to carry me through this program.
