Granite Falls Middle School Archery

This weekend GFMS participated in the NC State 3D archery tournament. We shot a 1488 securing 5th place. We had 6 personal bests in 3D!!!! Gavin B earned 2nd place for middle school boys shooting his personal best of 278.
Congratulations to Hudson Middle and South Caldwell High for their second place finishes in their divisions!!!
It was a little more hectic than usual so we didn’t get any pictures during the tournament. Please share any you may have gotten.
Our regular season is over and now we’re starting to prepare for the National Tournament in May! Be on the look out for extra practice notifications.

Today was a big day for GFMS archery!!! The team participated in both a 3D and Target tournament. These tournaments had some of the best schools in the state competing and Coach Reeds are so proud of how these students represented GFMS!!!
In target we had another team best of 3068! This earned us 5th in the middle school division. We had 7 archers shoot their personal bests. Gavin B finished 5th for middle school boys!
In 3D we had ANOTHER team best of 1545! This earned 5th in the middle school division AND the highest number of 10s!!! We had 13 archers shoot their personal bests!!! Gavin B finished 3rd for middle school boys and Kimber W finished 8th for middle school girls!!
What an amazing day on the ranges!!! Next weekend is the 3D state tournament in Morganton!

Granite Falls Middle School participated in the State Archery Tournament in Winston-Salem today! We shot our best score of the season with a 3009!!!! This is an over 50 point improvement! This earned us 7th in the state and an invitation to the national tournament in Louisville, KY!

We had 7 archers shoot their personal best today! The coaches are super proud of the positive attitudes exhibited by this team today and how they represented GFMS.

Big shout out to Hudson for winning the Middle School State title!!!!!

Today GFMS participated in the Cupid's Clash at Startown Elementary. Our students shot their best team score of the season with a 2955!!! We had 9 archers shoot their season best today!!!! What a great day on the range! Good job everyone!
Our next tournament is in 2 weeks at East Burke High School.

We had a great showing today at the Falcon Classic at Forbush High School. We had our best team score of the season and took home the trophy! 7 of our archers shot their personal bests of the season today! Levi and Karsyn both took home 1st place middle school boy/girl. It was a great opening to the season.

Another week of personal best scores! We shot our season best yesterday at practice and we had 9 individuals score their personal best. Reminder that tomorrow is the first tournament of the season at Forbush High School!!!

We took our second tournament score today! We increased our team score by 44 points in one week and had 8 archers shoot their season best. Let's keep up the good work! Reminder that we have our annual Turkey Shoot during Tuesday's practice next week!!!
