Welcome Coach Thompson! 📣

Granite City High School is proud to welcome Jessica Thompson as the new Granite City High School Cheer Coach!

Thompson recently completed her first year as a sixth-grade teacher at Prather Elementary School after spending 10 years in the Pattonville School District in Missouri.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a master’s degree in Specialized Reading from Lindenwood University.

A former student-athlete, Thompson cheered and competed at Coolidge Junior High and GCHS, as well as at the All-Star level with Pride of Illinois in Collinsville. She also cheered and competed collegiately at Lindenwood, where she was part of the first team from Missouri to win an NCA National Championship. The team was later inducted into the Lindenwood Sports Hall of Fame.

Thompson also brings extensive coaching experience, including time with Pride of Illinois, DK Dance Studio in Florissant, Lindenwood University as a sideline coach and as a UCA Camp instructor.
