RACE RESULTS – June 5/6, 2026
Probably passed more cars than anyone else this weekend while advancing 25 total positions between Friday and Saturday features… not necessarily a good thing!

FRIDAY – Miami County Raceway | Peru, IN
Hotlaps – 5th in group; had an injection issue…
Heat – 4 to 7; Was so focused on getting injection issue handled we missed setup on the car.
B Main – 9 to 7; barely squeaked in. Kept overdriving the car
Feature – 19 to 6. Great run with really good speed. Steadily progressed up through the field. Car was on rails running the top.

SATURDAY – US 24 Speedway | Logansport, IN
Hotlaps – 1st in group and overall
Heat – 3 to 6; Trying too hard to maintain 3rd position and overdrove the car on two corners.
Feature – 18 to 6; Similar to Friday night, car was really good and I was able to progress up to 6th by the 25 lap run to the checkers.

Not a horrible weekend results wise, but… with the speed we’ve built into this car, I need to do a better job in the heat races to start up front in the features. Looking forward to lots of laps this weekend at the $10k to win “Big Dance” at US 24 Speedway Friday and Saturday.

RACE RESULTS | May 30 24 Speedway

Hotlaps - 4th
Heat 8 to 4
Feature 8 to 6

Solid night overall. Wasted a little too much time trading sliders with #95. I need to think that through a little bit quicker next time and get it done once. Good speed and I really like where we have this Concept Chassis Inc. C6-4.0 chassis right now considering it was our first run on our new set of Competition Suspension Inc. NXTs.

Looking forward to heading back to Peru, Indiana's Miami County Raceway for another evening of Friday Night Lights in a few days. Hopefully the weather holds off for Saturday at US24...

FREEDOM 50 Race Results | May 22/23, 2026
We had a solid run this past weekend in the inaugural Freedom 50 at Miami County Raceway in Peru, IN. Competing against some of the best in the country, we were able to make the preliminary (Friday) A Main (which was run before Saturday’s full show due to rain late Friday), and missed a lock in for Saturday’s feature by one spot. Was in a good position to advance into Saturday’s 50 lap Feature until an incident with two cars in front left me nowhere to go, stalling the engine, and being sent to the tail.

FRIDAY RESULTS
Heat | 2nd to 3rd
Qualifier | 6th to 4th
Feature | 14th to 7th
Was really pleased with our speed and handling overall. Could always be a little better, it seems, but we do race on dirt and it’s never perfect…

SATURDAY RESULTS
Heat | 8th to 9th
Qualifier | 14th to 6th
LCQ | 10th to 15th
Our heat race was rough. Instead of sticking with what we’ve been running setup-wise, we anticipated different and the car was way too tight on a quick-building cushion. In the qualifier we made a hard charge gaining 8 positions, highlighted by a 10th to 6th run in the last lap to transfer into the LCQ. Was very confident heading into the LCQ, but as noted above, two cars tangled in front of me, and I stalled the engine with nowhere to go and was sent to the tail. At this point the track was top dominant and everyone very equal in speed. I gained a few spots and called it a night.

Overall, was a solid weekend with results to build off of. Accomplished my first A main at a marquee event, but was bummed to not make Saturday’s feature as well.

RACE RECAP - May 15 & 16

In racing, they say you're only as good as your last race. That being said, we're looking forward to the opportunity to get back on track this weekend for the Freedom 50 at Miami County Raceway Friday and Saturday this upcoming weekend.

Friday - Miami County Raceway
3rd in Group / 4th overall in Hotlaps
Heat 2 to 3
Feature 9 to 6
A solid run but just didn't feel right.

Saturday - US 24 US 24 Speedway
Hotlaps - 5th - We wanted to test something, and it didn't work. Luckily hotlaps don't impact starting position so no worries. It's good to try things on occassion. Felt down on power.
Heat - 8 to 5 - Solid run. Car much better. And again, something wasn't quite right.
Feature - 10 to 16th (DNF). Got two positions quickly with a good first few laps, but what I started to feel Friday was noticeable. Lacking power. Instead of slugging through 25 laps, I took caution and pulled in.

So, here's what happened... First two nights of the season at US24 we had an overheating issue that was intermittent. Ended up being a loose wire on the water pump. Car would behave normal sitting still, but put 16,000 RPM to it and drive in circles and the issue occurs. We were nervous as the temps spiked to 250+ and we steam cleaned the internals losing a lot of coolant. Keep in mind that 250+ is only what a dry ECT sensor could read, it was likely much worse than that. Ran decent for a few weeks as our speed showed, we thought we were out of the woods. Not so...

We lost compression on 3 cylinders. Due to the overheating we had those two race nights- not sure if we burned valves, damaged rings, or both. So, off to Shively Racing Engines for this engine for some TLC and we'll have a spare in tonight.

Hate to damage a strong engine with something dumb like what occurred, especially when it could have been avoided.

Don't like sharing the information, but the one thing we've always been on this page is honest with our results. We don't only post the good. And, we certainly wanted to control the rumor mill narrative, which, once again, was humorous.

We'll get back next week with the SlateUp, Inc. clip of the week. For now, we're getting this Concept Chassis Inc. designed by Shietze Creative Co. prepped for a great weekend.

Race Report | May 9th @ US24 Speedway

Let a good finish slip away with a driving error while running comfortably in 2nd. Here’s the recap…

No times given in group hotlaps. Car was really good. We would wait to see how the track evolves before making any decisions on changes for the heat race.

Heat Race | 3rd to 1st | Decided to be aggressive on the start and took the lead on lap 1, led all laps. Really didn’t think I wanted to change anything setup wise. Felt really good with the car for sure.

Feature | 2nd to 10th | I knew we had a fast car. Honestly, we’ve made very minimal changes the last two weeks as I’ve been very confident in the feel and maneuverability of the car. At the start of the race we settled in 2nd and were running consistent laps. I felt comfortable enough that I wanted to try a few things with the car- I really wanted to push it harder. I just wanted to feel where the edge of this car would be.

Unfortunately, on lap 10, I entered turn 1 a little bit high on the cushion, got a little bit of air on the rear, hit the brakes to settle to car, and stalled the engine. Went to the tail and worked my way back up to 10th.

Dad says I got greedy. I don’t know about that. Whatch the SlateUp, Inc.clip of the week. I’m not going to hide behind it. I mean, we’re always racing for the spot ahead of us, right? But what if that spot was in reach with a few changes? What if I’m leaving something on the table? In Caleb Shietze’s winner interview, he said he was kind of taking it easy. I kind of felt like I was doing the same thing for 9 laps, and I chose to get aggressive and lift later and drive in a little straighter than I should have. So yes- I probably gave away a 2nd place finish or a strong podium run. I’ll own it. On that night, and in that circumstance, I made the choice. It wasn’t the car. It wasn’t the track. It was me, my mistake.

I’m confident I’ll be in the same position with this Shively-powered Suzuki tuned by Miller Fuel Injection & Dyno Service Concept Chassis Inc. C6 4.0 again soon. Perhaps I’ll respond a little bit differently…

Race Update | May 1&2

Friday @ Miami County Raceway
No times were given in hotlaps.
Heat – 3 to 3
Feature – 7 to 7
Solid run, good speed. Not really much else to say other than we’re definitely dialing in the car well.

Saturday @ US24 Speedway
Hot Laps – 2nd fastest in group, 2nd fastest of 30 cars (keep in mind it means nothing ).
Heat – 7 to 4
Feature – 10 to 9

Normally don’t get too excited about a 9th place run. Didn’t have the luck of heat race shenanigans to gain a few more positions to start us up front further. But looking at lap times is the positive to take away. The feature track was pretty slick all the way to a little bit of top grip and a narrow cushion to lean on- definitely a technical track.

I’m confident we have speed and dialed the car in further to the point where our notebook is pretty consistent. Now we can begin trying for the extra little bit that is elusive. We’ll also see some change in track conditions as the weather warms up soon so that will also challenge what everyone has done these first few weeks.

The Slate Up clip of the week is a great example of how difficult some of the grip levels were Saturday night. It was challenging to pass. Even going off-line when you had a good run on someone to throw a slider proved to be challenging. Luckily, we dodged a spinning car- from a great driver that probably has the highest winning percentage of anyone the last three years. The track definitely kept us on our toes Saturday…

RACE UPDATE – 4/25/26
Mother nature won Friday night at County Raceway in Peru, IN so we spent the evening switching a few things over that we wanted to test out at US24 with our new Concept Chassis Inc. C6 4.0 chassis.

Saturday night at US24 brought a stout field of 38 cars in the class, the largest of the evening.

Hot Laps | P4 – Car was a little loose, which is what we were looking to find to feel a few things. Starting order in heat races is based off of random draw, so we were being a little more aggressive than normal.

Heat | P2 to P2 – Car was really good. Settled into 2nd pretty quickly and pushed for the lead a few times, but stayed there till the end. Transferred directly to the A Main, which always just relaxes the night a bit. Provides us more time to catch up with others and read the track throughout the night.

Feature | P10 to P7 – Could have gotten a bit more aggressive on the setup, but was still a solid run for the 25 lap feature. Definitely better than last week.

The SlateUp, Inc. clip of the week is all about reaction time. You never expect two cars to get together on the fastest part of the track, but you need to be prepared for it.

Looking forward to another opportunity to dial the car a little bit more for a double race weekend as Friday we are again scheduled for a Miami County Raceway and Saturday at US24 Speedway.

RACE WEEKEND UPDATE
Thankfully mother nature cooperated and we were able to run both Friday and Saturday night at Speedway.
This weekend we did not qualify for starting positions. We draw a number that determines the starting lineup for the heat races.

We had a young fan ask us "What is it like at the start of a race?" Friday night. So we thought we'd debut the SlateUp, Inc. clip of the week with a less than memorable start from Friday evening. But its a great shot of everyting that is happening.

FRIDAY RESULTS
1st in group hot laps (don’t get excited, it doesn’t count)
Heat – 2nd to 4th – Car a little too tight
Feature – 8 to 9th – Should have been more aggressive in adjustments. First lap of feature contact with other cars sent us to the tail and worked our way up to 9th.

SATURDAY RESULTS
4th in group hotlaps
Heat – 8th to 7th – Another car lost brakes it looks like but the rear of my car was there to help stop them. Went to the tail, made up a few spots.
B Main – 8th to 8th Felt like the good ol’ days starting 8th when only 8 make the show. Can’t remember how many times we were sent to the tail involved in others’ incidents (3 times in 12 laps). Made it back up to 8th to barely squeak in.
Feature – 20th to 9th – Feature was nuts. I think I only passed 3 cars and advanced 11 spots due to other incidents. Track was locked down on the bottom and not much to do.

Frustrating when speed doesn’t translate to results. Also need to clean up a few things driving wise, but looking forward to dialing this Up Concept Chassis C6 4.0 as we get some early season races under our belt. There is definitely a lot more in there and I’m excited for that!
