Sox Nation. I have had a few people ask about gloves. At the 9U age some would like to transition into a better glove. While this can be tricky it is also a big investment. I often see people purchase the wrong size or buy one and they get frustrated that it takes weeks if not months to break in. No, your kid will not grow out of these level of gloves. The only thing that might change is they will prefer a different model for a different positions as they get older.
I can help if you are looking for a new or used glove. New gloves have hundreds different options from each manufacturer. It can get confusing. Used gloves are still pricey but a great option in my opinion. I have completely restored many gloves over the years and what you end up with is an almost new glove that is broke in. Professional model gloves if taken care of can last 15+ years or longer. Below is an example of one I just completed. Cleaned, reconditioned, sealed and relaced.
So don't hesitate to ask if you are considering a new or used glove. Maybe you have one that needs some work and I can help with that also.
