Varsity season is officially over! What a bittersweet feeling.

Your regional qualifiers and their alternates spent the last weekend in College Station on the road to snagging a state spot, but we ended the adventure after two rounds in. That’s okay! Means we have growth to aim towards and goals to meet.

It was an amazing experience for all, and awesome, tough competition for our players to stretch their skills and watch some amazing schools. Our season was a rough one, but rewarding.

Forever proud of these kids.

On Monday varsity made the trip over to Ennis to meet with six other schools and compete in our District Tournament. The day was long and sweltering, and we brought them home tired and sunburned, but the kids played their best against some awesone teams and brought home amazing results!

On the girls’ side, Rylee Moore took home the gold with her first place win in girls singles, snagging a spot for Regionals!

Also in girls singles, Maryn Brodnax finished her first year in varsity with a fourth place win boosting our team score!

Girls duo Maddie Hinson and Shelby Long also secured a spot for Regionals with their second place win in girls doubles!

On the boys’ side, both top singles players Ashton Conrad and Ty McElroy went head to head in a playback that ended with Ty winning third, adding to our team score, and Ashton winning second and securing a spot for Regionals his second year in a row!

The varsity team walked away with second most team points, putting us 2nd place as a team!

Congrats to our varsity players for an amazing year and to those continuing the season at Regionals!

Yesterday was an absolutely perfect day for tennis and we took a handful of beginner players (and a couple of JV & varsity kids to help!) to their first tournament ever. Most of these guys only started playing this summer, and others just a few weeks ago. Their progress was obvious as they went out there and kicked butt on the courts!

From the JV division, girls doubles duo Caylee Hamrick & Briley May brought home bronze with their 3rd place win!

Duo Casandra Lee & Stella Soward snagged 4th in consolation, mixed doubles duo Ariel Aasen & Jovi Jackson claimed 2nd in consolation, and singles player Katie Hackbart was a game away from finals!

From the varsity division, Rylee Moore claimed gold in her first place victory in girls singles!

I'm so proud of each and every one of these guys! We have the best Zebras!
