Black, Brown, and Indigenous women have been warning us their whole lives. They are not surprised by whatโs happening right now, we just werenโt listening.
If youโre white and you feel shocked, scared, or โawakeโ right now: this is your sign to stop centering your surprise and start listening, learning, amplifying, and taking responsibility.
Donโt ask anyone for emotional labor. Donโt DM people of color asking where to start. Choose to learn from the work Black, Brown, and Indigenous women have already shared. Support their work in real ways (sharing, donating, showing up, protecting) and commit to having the harder conversations in your own white circles.
And yes, this includes q***r & trans women of color, because liberation has to include them. If this makes you defensive, pause and ask why. Then, keep going anyway. โค๏ธ Erin
