10th Planet Grand Rapids has officially relocated!
After a lot of work behind the scenes, we’ve secured a new space and we’re starting from ground zero. No renovations yet, no polish—just mats, hard work, and the same mission.

🔥 NEW ADDRESS:
3716 28th St SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49512

The new spot is a work in progress. Its a bit rough right now. Definitely not going to slow our flow any.

Meet Head Coach and Owner Chili Jamison

Chili started training in the 10th Planet system in 2009 and never looked back. Growing up as a wrestler, he quickly fell in love with the intensity and competitive nature of MMA. It was during his time as an MMA fighter/coach that Chili was introduced to 10th Planet Jiu Jitsu. He was immediately drawn to the unorthodox techniques and unconventional approach to grappling that the system offered. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced competitor, Coach Chili is committed to helping you achieve your goals in Jiu Jitsu. Its been a real pleasure to watch you grow!

I’ve watched Daniel navigate the most difficult version of this journey: training in the gaps, balancing school at Michigan State, and piecing his game together across different mats and narrow windows of training time. Still always down to test himself on the comp floor. Hes won every tournament hes entered no matter what the difficulty is set at. Has only lost once in competition to this point and coming off a weekend where he took down a $1,000 open-weight cash tournament —competing with zero ego, just pure grit and technique.

10th Planet Grand Rapids was built on a simple philosophy: be the underdog that nobody wants a round with. We founded this school as a grassroots fight club—the Scallywags—focusing on the lifestyle, the grit, and the anyone, anywhere, anytime mentality that defines our system.

This past weekend we hosted our first women’s-only no-gi jiu jitsu class at 10th Planet Grand Rapids, and it was exactly what it was meant to be.

We focused on fundamentals, movement, and controlled positional sparring so everyone could experience what training actually feels like without pressure to “perform” or already know what they’re doing.

No one needed to be fearless.
They just needed to start.

Huge respect to everyone who stepped onto the mats for the first time and trusted the process. That first class is never easy!

This won’t be the last one. If you’ve been curious, unsure, or waiting for the right entry point, keep an eye out.

Thank you to everyone who came out and helped make the room what it was. 👊
